Many people are extremely excited about our Cajun waterfront restaurant & bar at the Lake of the Ozarks opening back up for the season next week. We have two vacation house rentals available. The Red House can host up to 16 guests and the Glass House can sleep up to 8.

The Best Gas Dock & Marina on the Lake of the Ozarks

Spring is here and even though we may still have some chilly days and nights ahead, it won't be long before every day is a perfect one to get out on the water! For those days, making a stop at our Lake of the Ozarks gas dock & marina is the best way to ensure you have everything needed for an awesome day enjoying the lake. 

Just down the dock from Shorty Pants Lounge on mile marker 21 is Shorty Pants Marina. You can park your watercraft, gas it up, and get all the supplies you need there plus it's a nice spot to take a break and hang out for a while. Here is what you'll find waiting when you make that stop. 

Gas & Boating Essentials
Our convenient gas dock offers 87 Octane, 93 Octane, and Diesel fuel for your boat or PWC. The gas dock attendants can fill you up before you head out and top you off at the end of the day.

Gas isn't the only boating necessity you will find at Shorty Pants Marina. For the boat, you'll find things like oil, fuel stabilizer, watersport flags, batteries, and more. For the boaters, we have personal care items you may have forgotten to pack such as deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, chapstick, toilet paper, sunblock, and sunglasses, to name a few.  

Ice, Drinks, Snacks, & Swag
You'll need refreshments to keep you going all day long out on the water, and our C-store has that for you too. Get ice for your coolers as well as the tasty treats and beverages to fill it with. We've got package liquor, soft drinks, water, and all kinds of snacks. 

You can also enjoy free popsicles for the kids, free coffee for the adults, and free dog treats for your 4-legged passengers. Don't forget to pick up your awesome Shorty Pants gear while you're shopping too; cups, koozies, shirts, hats, and so much more.  

Boat & PWC Storage
If you need a place to park your watercraft while you're in town, we may be able to help. Our marina has 35 covered boat slips from sizes 14'x26' up to 20'x56' as well as PWC slip rentals. Give us a call at 573-302-1004 to check availability and make arrangements to park here. Amenities that come along with those slips include:

A Lake of the Ozarks vacation should be on your list of things to do this year. If you don't already have a home in the area, one of the first things you should take care of is finding a place to stay. Our waterfront vacation rental houses at the Lake of the Ozarks are perfect for groups both large and small and best of all, they are located right next door to Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina! 

There are tons of fun things going on around the lake area year-round and especially in the summertime. Making reservations early gives you a much better chance at snagging the most popular dates. The Glass House
Both of our lakefront vacation houses are located in Osage Beach off Hwy. KK on the 21-mile marker. The Glass House contains 1,500 square feet of living space with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and the ability to sleep up to 8 comfortably. 

You'll find all the comforts of home, including a washer and dryer, full kitchen, and a gas grill on the 44-foot deck. A courtesy dock is available upon request for your boating needs and we have partnered with BomBay Boat Rentals to bring you the option to rent a watercraft during your stay. Shorty Pants Marina has a full-service gas dock and a convenience store.

The Red House

Next door, the Red House also contains all the comforts of home needed to enjoy a relaxing stay plus the same, gorgeous lake views as the Glass House. This property is larger at 3,400 square feet of living space and has two 44-foot decks. There are 5 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and this house can accommodate up to 16 guests. There is also an apartment-like space detached from the house that we call the "Love Shack."

The Amazing Flavors of Bourbon St. at the Lake of the Ozarks!

You don't have to travel all the way to New Orleans to enjoy authentic rich and savory Cajun cuisine. Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina in Osage Beach knows all the secrets for bringing the amazing flavors of Bourbon St. to you, right here in mid-Missouri! The best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks can be found throughout our extensive menu, but is most prominently featured in our "Bourbon Street Eats."

As this blog is being written, we are currently finishing up a fantastic kitchen remodel. This will allow us to get even more creative with the delicious dishes we serve. Once the remodel is complete, we'll be opening our doors to you this spring so you can enjoy the following plates of Creole goodness, as well as all of your other Shorty Pants Lounge favorites. 

BOURBON STREET EATS
Each of these incredible Cajun creations is served with a garden salad or mini Caesar and your choice of French bread or corn muffins. 

Crab Cake Pasta
Two delicious handmade shrimp and lump blue crab cakes are placed on a bed of fresh fettuccine with our amazing seafood cream sauce. 

Cajun Alfredo
A mildly spiced Alfredo tossed with fresh fettuccine noodles. You may order this with chicken, shrimp, or a combination of the two. 

Easy Street Trio
You will love this sweet and spicy blush cream sauce with Andouille sausage, shrimp, and tender chicken served over fresh fettuccine.

Chicken New Orleans
A blackened chicken breast sauteed with a trio of bell peppers and our Cajun cream sauce served over rice. 

Voodoo Chicken
A spicy, marinated, blackened chicken breast placed over a bed of sauteed onions, peppers, and rice. 

Smothered Catfish
A catfish filet served on a bed of rice and smothered in our crawfish etouffee. Order this either fried or blackened. 

Jambalaya
A Louisiana rice-based dish steamed in rich and subtle Cajun spices, Andouille sausage, chicken, and shrimp. Try it "dirty" topped with red beans!  

Red Beans 'n' Rice
This classic dish is seasoned to perfection and served with a link of Andouille sausage. 

Shrimp 'n' Grits
Large shrimp sauteed with Andouille sausage, hickory-smoked bacon, onions, and mushrooms served over our homemade cheddar cheese and jalapeno grits. 

Crawfish-N-Shrimp Etouffee
Crawfish and shrimp smothered in a rich creamy etouffee sauce with Creole vegetables served with rice. 

New Orleans Medley
A plateful of our signature entrees - creamy crawfish etouffee, rich jambalaya, red beans and rice, and a half link of Andouille sausage.

When You're Cravin' Cajun at the Lake of the Ozarks - Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina

Your favorite Cajun restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks is currently undergoing an awesome kitchen remodel, and once that's done, we should be back open for our 2019 season sometime in March! All of your favorite New Orleans flavors will be back along with everything else you love about Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina. Just in case your memory needs a refresher, here's what you've got to look forward to. 

Amazin' Cajun & More
Our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant is famous for the authentic Cajun creations that come out of our kitchen. We are able to offer foods that make you feel like you're in the French Quarter rather than mid-Missouri because we use only the tastiest rubs and spices direct from Louisiana! Among our most popular Cajun menu items are those World Famous Crab Cakes, Crawfish-N-Shrimp Etouffee, the Creole Quesadilla, great big Po Boy sandwiches, and incredible Jambalaya. 

Even though Creole cuisine is our specialty, we still have lots of traditional favorites without the Cajun twist on our menu too. You'll find prime rib burgers, savory steaks, fresh salads, delicious seafood, incredible sandwiches and wraps, and even a kids' menu the little ones cannot resist. This summer you'll most likely want to dine outside to take in our gorgeous lake view, but when the weather isn't quite pleasant enough for that, we have plenty of seating inside too plus a wonderful covered patio complete with a cozy fireplace for those chilly spring evenings.  

Your Favorite Drinks
You'll find just as much attention to detail in the delicious drinks we mix up behind the bar as those amazing food items that come out of the kitchen. The Cajun Bloody Marys and muddled Mojitos are always popular, and we have a long list of classic (& not-so-classic) Hurricanes available in true New Orleans fashion. You can also enjoy a wonderful selection of wines, ice-cold beers, and those fantastic frozen drinks that are a must when you're in the lake area. 

The Best Live Music
The best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks can be heard from our outdoor stage. You will find a wonderful mix of soothing sounds to enjoy during dinner and on into a lovely lake evening along with bands that will have you on the dance floor all night long. We are currently putting the finishing touches on our 2019 schedule, but we'll have it up on the "Events & Entertainment" page of our website very soon. 

Incredible Marina & C-Store
Located on the 21 MM in Salt Hollow Creek, just down the dock from Shorty Pants Lounge, you'll find the best gas dock at the Lake of the Ozarks - Shorty Pants Marina. In addition to fuel, the fully stocked convenience store offers everything you might need for a day out on the water. You'll find boat supplies such as oil, flags, and more, plus you can also pick up other necessities you may have forgotten to pack like suntan lotion, deodorant, paper towels, and similar items. The c-store also has ice, snacks, soft drinks, package liquor, and some great Shorty Pants souvenirs like koozies, shirts, hats, sunglasses, and more. 

If you're in need of a place to store your boat, we have covered dock slips available from sizes 14x36 up to 20x56. Marina amenities include showers, washer/dryers, free WiFi and electric, free ice, gated parking, and access to the cleanest restrooms on the lake.  

Vacation Next Door
Our amazing Lake of the Ozarks waterfront vacation rental houses, located right next door to Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, are available year-round and the perfect place to stay while you're in town. We have two options for you, The Red House and the Glass House. Both have an unbelievable lake view plus all the comforts of home for groups both large and small. They feature gorgeous decks, a full kitchen, BBQ grill, washer and dryer, and spacious rooms for everyone to enjoy. 

The Glass House features 1,500 feet of living space and can sleep up to 8 guests comfortably. There are 2 queen size beds, 1 full bed, and a sleeper sofa in the living room, plus 2 bathrooms. 

The Red House offers 3,400 square feet to enjoy and can house up to 16 guests. There are 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in this beauty, plus another 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom "Love Shack" not connected to the main property.

Looking for Winter Fun at the Lake of the Ozarks? Here It Is!

We're all looking forward to March because it happens to contain opening day for your favorite waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks, but you don't have to wait that long to have a good time around here. Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina's sister restaurants have some awesome events coming up that we know you are going to love! 

First, this January, there is an evening for whiskey-lovers and food lovers alike. Then in February, it's time for the Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pub Crawl plus an out-of-this-world pre-party that you do not want to miss!  

Whiskey Dinner at Wobbly Boots
This event may be geared toward whiskey-lovers, but the gourmet creations that chef Kevin McCowan comes up with will make even the most finicky foodie very, very happy! Wobbly Boots Roadhouse will be hosting this 5-course whiskey pairing dinner on Monday, January 28, 2019, at 6:30 pm in their private room next to the fireplace. 

Savory whiskey cocktails and tastings from the Jim Beam family will be featured this month. Seating is limited, so you'll want to head on over to the Boot ASAP to pick up tickets or call 573-348-2277 to reserve them. Wobbly Boots BBQ has been recognized as one of the Great Bourbon Bars of America, and these dinners helped them to earn that title.     

Pre-Pub Crawl Party at Dog Days
The night before the biggest party at the Lake of the Ozarks, Dog Days Bar & Grill will open for another off-season, one-night-only event featuring amazing live music and incredible drinks. It's the perfect warm-up before you head out on Saturday to the Lake Pub Crawl.

Doors open at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 15, 2019, for a fantastic dance party at the Dog. In case you were unaware, they have an incredible indoor stage that works perfectly for hosting a winter party. 

There will be a double-feature of amazing music in store for you beginning at 8:00 pm with both The Plastics and The Mixtapes. Tickets will be $15 at the door on show night, but you can pick up tickets in advance for only $10 each at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse. 

The Mardi Gras Pub Crawl
If you like to party at the lake, then you've undoubtedly heard about this very popular annual event at the Lake of the Ozarks. It's the one night mid-winter that the lake area is nearly as crowded as it is mid-summer! 

The Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pub Crawl is happening on Saturday, February 16, 2019. This year there are 16 stops, each featuring their own live music, and over 30 buses offering a safe, sober ride to all pub crawlers from 4:00 pm-2:30 am. A single $10 wristband allows you to join in the fun all night long! Our favorite stop is always Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, but as long as you're with fun friends and ready for a night of revelry, you're going to have fun at each stop!
