7 Quick & Easy Halloween Costume Ideas

Some people love dressing up and look forward to planning next year's Halloween costume November 1.  Many, instead, wait until October 30 and drastically scramble for something quick and easy to throw on so they can attend all of the Halloween parties around town with their friends.  Well, Shorty Pants Lounge is here to help out those procrastinators!  The following costume ideas can be pulled together in a hurry with one or two small items.  You may even luck out and find them around your house already.

Devil, Witch, Animal, etc..

Thrown on a witch's hat or a headband with horns or ears, and boom, you're dressed!  The addition of a cape steps up your costume game another notch.  These are also easy, small items that you can throw in a drawer and have ready and waiting for you every time you need to dress up.

Superhero

Once again, add a mask and a cape to whatever you are already wearing and you are dressed!  The most fun part about this costume is coming up with your powerfully cool superhero name and alter-ego.

Mummy

A roll or two of gauze from the drug store and you are all set.  Simply start wrapping yourself until you are thoroughly covered.  There is one very important tip to remember though.  You will need to go to the restroom at some point during the evening, so make sure you can unwrap without completely undressing.

Skeletons

One black t-shirt, one white t-shirt, and some scissors and you are in business.  If you are feeling creative, the facial makeup makes this costume even better.

Luau Party People

We love this costume because it brings back all of our awesome memories from the Summer season.  Sunglasses and a lei are all that is needed, but the addition of a tropical drink in your hand all evening is a tasty bonus.

Pirates

This is another costume that makes us think of the Lake.  (Don't get worried, we only have the fun, friendly pirates on the Lake of the Ozarks.  Captain Morgan is one of our favorites!)  As long as you have a pirate hat, you're good.  An eye patch makes it even better.

Pumpkin Head

A jack-o-lantern is probably something that you can grab off of your front porch on the way to your party, quick and easy.  It's most definitely a costume that will get lots of attention, and probably some high-fives. That being said, we have no clue how to make this happen without a disgusting mess of pumpkin pulp all around your head.  If you figure it out, please, send us some photos!  If you are up for a challenge and love having all eyes on you, then this might be a great idea.  Good luck!

There you go.  Seven simple costume ideas for the person that doesn't worry about Halloween until the last minute.  There's nothing wrong with that.  As you can see, you can still look awesome at the last minute.  Party hard, stay safe, and don't get too scared out there.  Shorty Pants Lounge wants to wish everyone an incredible holiday weekend.  Make sure you stop by the best waterfront restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks to show off your costumes and have a few Cajun treats at some point during Halloween.

It's Shorty Pants Sweatshirt Season!

So far this Fall has been incredibly warm, and we are loving every minute of it!  The day will come before we know it, though, when that chill in the air lasts all day long.  The best waterfront restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks will still be here waiting to serve up all of your Cajun favorites when that happens, and we've also got the best-looking Shorty Pants Lounge gear to keep you cozy and warm both here and all around town.

We are getting into the part of the Autumn season where the sun will be shining and the view of the lake will take on a special, colorful aura, but the temperature will be a little to cold for a short-sleeved t-shirt alone.

We have been honored with the title of the Lake of the Ozarks best gas dock for 6 years running now.  We stock it with friendly, knowledgeable staff, food, drinks, ice, boating supplies, and some of the coolest clothing that you have ever seen. Included in this selection of sweet gear is a large variety of warm, comfortable sweatshirts, hoodies, and long-sleeved T's. Here are a few reasons why you need a Shorty Pants Lounge shirt to wear this Fall.

Keep Warm

You are going to want to sit outside on our waterfront deck enjoying the beauty of the Lake of the Ozarks for as long as possible.  Donning one of our stylish sweatshirts will allow you to do this.  Also, they are great for those die-hard boaters that like to brave the cool winds while cruising the lake.

Make Your Friends Jealous

We've got some pretty snazzy gear here at Shorty Pants Lounge.  Come on in and get first pick from all of the incredible designs.  Not only will your friends wish that they had one of their own, they will be jealous of the fact that you have something to remind you of all of the awesome times that you had with us over the Summer.

We've Got Your Color

You know that color that you look so gorgeous in?  Well, there's an excellent chance that you will find a shirt here in that color.  We carry a large selection of colors, styles, and sizes to keep everyone happy.

Cold weather shirts aren't the only gear that you can purchase on your next trip to Shorty Pants Lounge. We've got hats to keep the rain off your head, sunglasses to cut the glare when you brave the water on a sunny Fall day, and koozies to keep your hands warm while you keep your drink cold.  You'll find an incredible selection in our C-store, and a smaller selection inside of the restaurant.

Head on over to the best Cajun restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks soon and stock up before the temperatures take a dive.  It's a great time to start thinking about all of those people on your Christmas list, too!  We're still here, open at 11:00 am, 7 days a week.  Come in for the delicious food, and leave with some of our awesome Shorty Pants Lounge gear.

Shorty Pants Made a LOT of People Happy This Summer!

It was a very busy, awesome Summer at Shorty Pants Lounge.  We are still open 7 days a week, ready to serve you the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks! Here is a look back at our successful 2015 season and we consider it successful because of the kind things that so many of our customers had to say about their experience with us. Here are a few of our favorites.

" 'Great atmosphere' This restaurant definitely gives you enough food for the price. They have a great view of the lake and a cozy area to sit in front of the fire. Would recommend this place for anyone wanting good food."
-Chris N, Omaha NE, Oct. 2015 from TripAdvisor

"Great spot on the water: live music, good drinks and beer menu, and excellent burgers, wings, and sides. Overall, a great spot for lunch or dinner after a day on the water."
-Tara S, Loveland OH, August 2015from Yelp

"I found this restaurant after an office conference and ate with a party of 22. They handled us expertly and the food was surprisingly good. I had the jambalaya with cornbread which tasted great. The service was exceptional. Would recommend and will return."
-Jonathan S, St. Joseph MO, July 2015 from Yelp

" 'Good Cajun food & great lake view' Our family greatly enjoyed sitting lakeside for dinner at Shorty Pants. The red beans and rice were spot on and my daughter's catfish dinner was HUGE. The service was great and very attentive."
-MissouriGirl648, Carthage MO, Oct. 2015 from TripAdvisor

"Shorty Pants is one of our favorite spots on the lake. We love the atmosphere and the food. The drinks are perfect for lakeside flip flops! Great service and the kids love to throw the leftovers over the deck railing and watch the swarming carp and ducks go after it."
-Troy H, Omaha NE, July 2015 from Yelp

"Shorty pants will continue to have my service! Excellent food and service! Best mojito at the lake! My fiance and I ordered their blackened chicken nachos and their spinach dip. Both were fantastic!! Highly recommended both!"
-Kara F, Miami Beach FL, July 2015 from Yelp

" 'Best place for a little Cajun at the lake.' I try to go to Shorty Pants as often as I can, I LOVE Cajun food and so far as I know they have the largest menu of Cajun at the lake. Being right on the water is awesome, the the wait staff is fun and easy on the eyes and the food is pretty good... I wish they would deliver to Eldon. They have non-Cajun food on the menu too and it all looks good, I just never order it. If you are just visiting the lake, this place isn't the easiest to find but it is certainly worth the trip."
-Chopdrifter, Eldon MO, Sept. 2015 from TripAdvisor

" 'Best Bloody Mary on the Lake!' We go every day while on vacation to start our day with their Cajun Bloody Mary. We had dinner there on Friday night as well. They were crazy busy but had a short wait to be seated and food was wonderful! We got to know some of the staff in our daily visits, all very friendly, get along well, and seem to love working there. Worth the stop for drinks and food!"
-ddawny3, St. Louis MO, July 2015 from TripAdvisor

"Great restaurant with a great atmosphere. Being from Louisiana I was hesitant to try a place that billed itself as a restaurant that specialized in Creole cuisine. I ordered the jambalaya. It was perfectly filling and spiced well. My gf ordered the "big easy shrimp" that was also very good and seasoned perfectly. The servers were good and even helped move us to a dry table when it started raining. The Hurricane I ordered was also very good and reminded me of the drinks they serve on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Highly recommend. Enjoy."
-Joy T, St. Joseph MO, May 2015 from Yelp

" 'Cajun cuisine & a beautiful veiw.' We went for an early dinner and enjoyed the jambalaya and a few drinks. The dish was delicious, service excellent and the view outstanding. The drink menu was awesome with a selection of fresh squeezed cocktails."
-Joni W, Jefferson City MO, August 2015 from TripAdvisor
