We've Got the Cajun Flavors of Bourbon St. in Osage Beach!

Get the taste of New Orleans right here in mid-Missouri with the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks. You don't have to travel far to enjoy the flavors of Louisiana when you make a trip to Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina.

Cajun Style Cooking
Cajun food is a style of cooking that could be classified as a rustic cuisine. These particular types of recipes are named for the French-speaking Acadian people that made their homes in Louisiana. They used the ingredients that were easy to find in the region to prepare flavors that stood the test of time and people can't get enough of.

Some of the staple items that you will find in Cajun cooking include rice, sausages, seafood, and vegetables. Shorty Pants Lounge's menu is filled with these throughout, but it's especially evident in our Bourbon Street Eats offerings. These dishes feature rubs and spices direct from Louisiana, just like you would encoutner if you visited the French Quarter in person. Here's a look at the amazing Cajun meals we have for you right here in mid-Missouri.

Your legendary drink choices include muddled Mojitos and Cajun Bloody Mary's. We also have a wonderful selection of wines and the coldest beer at the lake.

Celebrate National Seafood Month With a Bit of Cajun Flavor

We are known far and wide for having the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks, and many of those Cajun dishes feature some type of seafood. Since October just happens to be National Seafood Month, we figured it was an excellent time to highlight a few of the mouthwatering seafood dishes you will find at Shorty Pants Lounge

Seafood is Good For You
Seafood is not only good to eat, but it's good for you. Did you know that there are many health benefits to eating seafood? It is recommended by the American Heart Association that a person should eat fish twice a week to improve heart health. This is mainly due to the high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids found in seafood.

It's also a great source of protein and many other vitamins and minerals. Other benefits for your body of eating seafood are: good skin, a boost in brain power and healthy eyesight, it is good for joint stiffness, and can even decrease depression. In addition to all of that, they way we cook it up, it tastes pretty amazing too!

Shorty Pants Seafood

Big Easy Shrimp
Large gulf shrimp sauteed in Budweiser, rosemary, butter, and a zesty lemon sauce.

Sweet Coconut Shrimp
A mix of sweet coconut combined with crunchy frosted flakes send these huge gulf shrimp over the top! They are served with a sweet raspberry sauce for dipping.

Crab Artichoke Spinach Dip
A mouth watering mixture of spinach, artichoke, and blended cheese, with our own tasty addition of crab. It's served with warm tortilla chips.

Crab Cake Pasta
2 handmade shrimp and lump blue crab meat cakes rolled in seasoned bread crumbs and topped with more shrimp, served in our seafood cream sauce, all atop a bed of fresh fettuccine.

Seared Ahi Tuna
6-oz. of sesame encrusted Sashimi style Ahi tuna, served with sesame ginger dressing and a wasabi cream sauce. You will find this on our starters menu, and also as a sandwich and on top of its own specialty salad.

Asian Shrimp Salad
Fresh greens and crispy cabbage with blackened shrimp, served with a medley of tomatoes, carrots, red peppers, baby corn, slivered almonds, Craisins, and rice noodles, tossed with a toasted sesame ginger dressing. You can also try it with blackened Ahi tuna on top.

Cajun Fried Oysters
Lively, seasoned, hand-breaded, southern fried oysters, served with our house Bloody Mary cocktail sauce.

Crawfish-N-Shrimp Etouffee
Crawfish & shrimp are smothered in a rich, creamy etouffee sauce with creole vegetables and served with rice. If you're in the mood for even more seafood, try the Smothered Catfish, which has this dish poured over the top of a delicious catfish filet.

Catfish BLT
Now you're in the South! A hand-breaded catfish filet served with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and our Cajun mayo on a toasted French roll. Available fried or blackened.

Catfish, Oyster, or Shrimp Po Boy
Choose either southern fried catfish, big deep-fried gulf oysters, or hand breaded shrimp for this sandwich with Cajun mayo, lettuce, and tomato.

It's National Dessert Month, Too!
October likes to pack a lot into its 31 days! Top of your Seafood Month celebration at Shorty Pants Lounge with one of our savory desserts.

Bananas Foster
Fresh bananas, thickly sliced and sauteed in our Cruzan Black Strap Rum sauce and topped with vanilla bean ice cream.

Chocolate Bayou Cobbler
A decadent Hershey's chocolate experience topped with vanilla bean ice cream and whipped topping. A must try!

Biegnets
Try this French Quarter favorite, Louisiana's doughnut. Perfectly deep-fried pastry tossed in powdered sugar and served with our house-made sweet raspberry sauce.

We've still got a few great weeks of fall weather ahead of us, so you'll have plenty of chances to visit your favorite waterfront restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks before our season is over. Don't wait, though, because we want to see you in here as many times as possible before winter's chill sets in. We open for lunch at 11 am, and our Sunday Happy Hour features drink specials on our famous Cajun Bloody Mary's, Screwdrivers, Mimosas, and Margaritas. See you soon!

Join Us Saturday for the Fall Harbor Hop

We know how to keep the fun going well into the "off-season" here at the lake. The 31st Annual Fall Harbor Hop is happening this Saturday, October 8, 2016, and Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina is the best card stop on the route! Fire up that boat, grab your most fun friends, and head on over to the best waterfront restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks for your card, plus so much more.

Harbor Hop at Shorty Pants
We'll be passing out cards to complete your poker hand from the time we open at 11 am until 7 pm, when the Harbor Hop ends. Make us your first stop and grab some lunch, join us for an appetizer and a cocktail midday, or pick up your final card here and stay for dinner and a beautiful sunset after the event. If the weather decides to get chilly, we'll even light the outdoor fireplace, or you can join us indoors.

Don't forget that we also happen to have the best gas dock at the Lake of the Ozarks in Shorty Pants Marina. You can gas up your boat and grab a few essentials for the crowd on board too. The C-store is packed full of all kinds of goodies: drinks, snacks, ice, sunglasses, boating supplies, koozies, hats, awesome one-of-a-kind Shorty Pants swag, and much more.

How To Play
To participate in the 2016 Fall Harbor Hop, you may sign up at any of the participating waterfront bars and restaurants. With an optional $20 donation, you will receive the first of 7 cards that you will collect by visiting any of the locations on the route list. Your hand will be turned in when you collect the 7th card. If you aren't terribly happy with your luck that day, you will be allowed to draw an 8th card for an additional $5.

All hands must be turned in by 7 pm, and winners will be notified by mail. Prizes will be given out in the form of gifts certificates, and the more money raised during Harbor Hop, the bigger those prizes will be. Here is how it will all break down:

  • 1st Place: 10%
  • 2nd Place: 9%
  • 3rd Place: 8%
  • 4th Place: 7% each
  • 5th - 10th Place: 5% each
  • 4 Worst Hands: 4% each
  • Random Drawing for 10 Hands: 2% each
(all ties will share the allocated percentage for the placing)

The Bonus
There will also be a bonus prize given out to the winner of each section of the Harbor Hop. It is divided into 4 sections, and if you collect your entire poker hand within the same section, you are eligible for that section's prize. We highly recommend hanging out in section 3! Not only is your favorite Cajun restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks located there, but also our sister restaurant, Dog Days Bar & Grill. Dog Days is even boasting 2 card stops this year.
