Amazing Appetizers That Really Hit The Spot!

The weather seems to keep us guessing around here lately at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina in Osage Beach. (Of course, that's par for the course here in mid-Missouri pretty much any time of the year!) This week we're blessed with sunshine and comfortable temperatures for enjoying time outdoors. 

While it lasts, it's a great time to hang out at our waterfront restaurant & bar at the Lake of the Ozarks on the lakeside deck and leisurely enjoy a drink or two and something delicious to munch on.

A variety of appetizers are an excellent way to slowly snack on small bites over a period of time, plus great to share with a table full of friends. The longer you can manage to make the food last, the longer you can enjoy the moment! Here is a look at the appetizers you'll find on the menu at Shorty Pants Lounge that can help you do just that. 

Creole Quesadilla
A bountiful blend of Andouille sausage, crawfish, and shrimp with pepper jack cheese plus sauteed peppers and onions. 

Smoked Wings
Our house-smoked wings are served in orders of 10 or 20 in your choice of the following:

  • Original
  • Extra Hot
  • Garlic Parmesan
  • Barbecue

Pork Nachos

Slow-smoked pulled pork, Turbodog cheese sauce, and red beans piled high on corn tortilla chips and topped with lettuce, tomatoes, green onions, and jalapenos. 

Blackened Chicken Nachos
Tortilla chips piled high and smothered in our Turbodog cheese sauce, then topped with spicy chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, green onions, and jalapenos and served with our salsa and sour cream.  


Chicken Tenders
Fresh chicken tenders are hand-breaded and fried to a golden brown. 

Big Easy Shrimp
Large Gulf shrimp sauteed in butter, white wine, garlic, lemon, rosemary, and Cajun seasoning.

Crab Artichoke Spinach Dip
A mouthwatering mixture of crab, spinach, artichoke, and blended cheese served warm with tortilla chips. 


Crab Cakes
Two handmade shrimp and lump blue crab meat cakes topped with shrimp in our seafood cream sauce.

Large Gulf shrimp seasoned and blackened in one of our cast iron skillets and served with a lemon wedge. 

Sweet Coconut Shrimp
Large Gulf shrimp breaded in a sweet frosted flake and coconut breading and served with our house-made sweet raspberry sauce. 


Peel and Eat Shrimp
Large shrimp spice-boiled and served with our house Bloody Mary cocktail sauce. 

Cajun Fried Oysters
Lively seasoned, hand-breaded, southern-fried oysters served with our house Bloody Mary cocktail sauce. 

Calamari
Flash-fried corkscrew calamari tubes served with your choice of jalapeno lime or cocktail sauce. 

Seared Ahi Tuna
A 6-oz. sesame encrusted Sashimi style Ahi tuna served with sesame ginger dressing and a wasabi cream sauce. 

The 2020 season at our waterfront Cajun restaurant & bar at the Lake of the Ozarks is not over yet, but the end is in sight. Appetizers So Amazing You'll Want To Try Them ALL!

Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina is famous for serving the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks but our extensive menu also contains lots of other equally delicious dishes. Today we're taking a closer look at one of our menu sections and it just seemed sensible to start with the "Starters!" There you'll find a lot of variety like Creole cuisine, seafood, wings, and more! 




Shorty Pants Starters

Creole Quesadilla
A bountiful blend of Andouille sausage, crawfish, and shrimp with pepper jack cheese plus sauteed peppers and onions.

We are now able to offer dockside dining on our lakeside decks! With the state of the country as it is right now, we realize that many people prefer to stay at home as much as possible to avoid crowds. That doesn't mean you have to miss out on all of your favorite Shorty Pants Lounge favorites though! (You know you've been craving them all winter long!)

Awesome Appetizers Too Delicious To Resist!

The Fall Harbor Hop is happening this Saturday, October 12, 2019. If you're joining in on this awesome poker run on the water, you'll have quite a few stops to make to complete a 7-card hand. Snacking throughout the day is a great way to keep your energy levels high, so Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina's appetizer menu may be just the thing to satisfy your cravings. 



Entrees of the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks are going to be hard to resist, but if you're just in the mood for a smaller bite to share with your fellow boaters, give a few of these amazing appetizers a try. (You can always come back for a full dinner after you're done hopping!) 

Seared Ahi Tuna
A 6-oz. sesame encrusted Sahimi style Ahi tuna served with sesame ginger dressing and a wasabi cream sauce. 

Smoked Wings
Our house-smoked wings are served original, extra hot, garlic parmesan, or barbecue. 

Creole Quesadilla

Try this French Quarter favorite - Louisiana's doughnut! Perfectly deep-fried pastry tossed in powdered sugar and served with our house-made sweet raspberry sauce. 



Before the Fall Harbor Hop, swing by the best gas dock & marina at the Lake of the Ozarks to gas up and stock up for a day on the water. During the event, head up the dock to our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant for a refreshing drink and a bite to eat. 



Once Harbor Hop is over, join us once again for dinner at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina. If you can't make it back that night, we're still open 7 days a week beginning at 11:00 am, so come on back as soon as you get the chance. We'll look forward to seeing you again!

The first section you'll come across on the Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina menu titled "Starters" is full of amazing dishes that will definitely catch your attention. (Keep reading past them though, because the rest of the menu is just as awe-inspiring!) 

The appetizers at our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant & bar are the perfect beginning to any meal and make a wonderful midday snack. As a matter of fact, the portions are large enough that you may be able to make a meal out of one of these! Here's a peek at the delicious dishes we're talking about.

Awesome Appetizers That Are Sure to Hit the Spot

With the 33rd Annual Fall Harbor Hop happening this Saturday, October 13, 2018, we realize that many of you will be making a lot of different stops along the lake to pick up all 7 of those poker cards. During your time here at our waterfront restaurant & bar at the Lake of the Ozarks, you may just be looking for a light bite to tide you over between stops. The Starters Menu at Shorty Pants Lounge is perfect for that!



Our appetizer servings are actually enough to pass for a meal, but if you have a boatload of fellow Harbor Hoppers with you, these dishes are perfect for sharing. That makes them a wonderful "snack" to enjoy until you can come back later for a full meal. 

Big Easy Shrimp
Large Gulf shrimp sauteed in butter, white wine, and garlic with lemon, rosemary, and Cajun seasonings.

In reality, those starters are only the beginning! (See what we did there?) These appetizers can be enjoyed as a meal by one person or you can share them with everyone at the table and save room for a plate of the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks once you're done with the Harbor Hop. 



We're still open 7 days a week beginning at 11 am, so Saturday isn't your only chance to get a taste of Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina. If you're just in town for Harbor Hop weekend, we hope to see you on Saturday or Sunday. If you live in the lake area year-round, we hope to see you quite a few more times in the next couple of months. The more you come in, the more food items you get to try!

Brie & Fruit Platter
Brie cheese, grapes, and sliced apples served with a fresh baguette and apricot jalapeno jelly. 

Crab Artichoke Spinach Dip
A mouthwatering mixture of crab, spinach, artichoke, and blended cheese served warm with tortilla chips. 

Crab Cakes
Two handmade shrimp and lump blue crab meat cakes rolled in seasoned bread crumbs and topped with shrimp, then covered with our seafood cream sauce.
