Memorial Day has come and gone. (It turned out to be a pretty awesome holiday weekend too!) The fun doesn't stop there though. We've got a season full of excitement waiting for you at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, beginning with the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks. 

This June, expect incredibly talented musicians to grace our stage every Tuesday night at 6:00 pm and on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 pm. Here's a closer look at exactly who will be entertaining you while you dine lakeside on the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks.

The fantastic music mentioned above at our lakeside restaurant and bar at the Lake of the Ozarks is plenty to get you through the month of June. In July, we'll have even more talented entertainers coming your way, but that's not all...

On Tuesday, July 9, 2019, be sure to join us for our Annual Crawfish Boil Anniversary Party! If you've been before, you already know it's a deliciously exciting evening that should not be missed. For the rest of you, here's an idea about what you can expect on this memorable evening. 

For one-night-only, you can enjoy an amazing dinner of crawfish, crab legs, Andouille sausage, potatoes, and corn. Mmmmm boy! There will be some great drinks specials on hand for you too, plus we'll have the incredible Travis Marvin on stage to keep your toes tapping all night long. Keep an eye out for more details as this event gets closer, but mark your calendars now!

In the meantime, you can join us 7 days a week beginning at 11:00 am for the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks. We use rubs and spices direct from Louisiana in our cooking, and you can both see and taste the influence of their Creole cuisine in our delicious dishes. Our World Famous Crab Cakes are an extremely popular menu item, as well as our Gumbo, Crawfish-N-Shrimp Etouffee, Jambalaya, and so much more. 

We've also got some fantastic drinks to wash all of that delicious food down with too. The Cajun inspiration is evident in many of those as well, like our freshly muddled Mojitos, the Cajun Bloody Mary, and a long list of tasty Hurricanes.

A perfect Memorial Day Weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks should include terrific meals, refreshing drinks, great live music, and quality time on the water. The Food
The most authentic Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks comes out of our kitchen, right here smack dab in mid-Missouri. All of the Creole creations on our amazing menu feature rubs and spices direct from Louisiana. Our world famous Crab Cakes, savory Crawfish Etoufee, mouthwatering Gumbo, and giant Po Boy Sandwiches are just the beginning of a menu that is sure to satisfy. 

Even if you're not quite in the mood for Cajun cuisine, you'll still find all kinds of delicious choices waiting for you on our diverse menu. The smoked wings are the best at the Lake and our burgers are simply out of this world. We've even got an excellent kids menu that the little ones love.  

The Drinks

The talented bartenders at Shorty Pants Lounge make the most amazing hand-mixed cocktails. Some of the specialties that you will find coming out of our bar are freshly muddled Mojitos, Cajun Bloody Marys, and magnificent Margaritas. All of your favorite frozen drinks are here too; Pina Coladas, Strawberry Daiquiris, Rum Runners, and of course, the lake area favorite - Pain in the A**. In addition to those, we carry an excellent assortment of wines as well as the coldest beer in town. 

The Music
On both Friday and Saturday evening of Memorial Day Weekend, we've got the extremely talented Dustin Clark on stage. This Missouri singer/songwriter has been entertaining crowds for over a decade with his hometown brand of music which is inspired both by his own personal life and stories from our veterans. If you can manage to squeeze an extra day into your extended holiday weekend, we've also got the incredible Travis Marvin lined up to begin our Tuesday night series of concerts. 

The Gas Dock & C-Store
If you'll be spending any time at all out on the water this holiday weekend, then a stop at our full-service gas dock at the Lake of the Ozarks is a must! We've got 87 Octane, 93 Octane and Diesel fuel for all your watercraft, plus a lot more than just gas! Shorty Pants Marina's C-store has snacks, drinks, ice, sunglasses, suntan lotion, and more. Everything you could possibly need for a fun day out on the water. You can even pick up a little Shorty Pants gear while you're here.

While you wait to get fueled up, chill out in one of the comfortable seats on the dock and grab some free coffee if you need a jolt of caffeine, free popsicles for the kids, and we've even got free treats for your four-legged passengers. The View
Last, but certainly not least, is the view you get to enjoy from our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant & bar. It's great while you're eating, plus beautiful and relaxing enough to make you want to stick around for a while after you're done. There are plenty of tables lakeside, and you can also sit at the outside bar while getting a load of that awesome view.

If you prefer to eat indoors while you're here, you'll find even more seating in a New Orleans styled atmosphere. There's also another bar you can belly up to, and the indoor dining room at Shorty Pants Lounge is smoke-free. 

We Have Vacation Rentals Too! 
Right there we've already given you 5 fantastic reasons to spend Memorial Day Weekend at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina (even more if you count the menu items individually!) We've got an entire season of fun still ahead of us after the holiday, and when you stay in one of our two Lake of the Ozarks vacation house rentals, you're always close to all the action. Dustin James Clark is a talented singer/songwriter from the Jefferson County, MO, area that has been playing both local and traveling shows for over a decade. He takes pride in the songs he has written, some of which reflect on the events surrounding a soldier being brought home and a hometown hero returning from war. Telling stories through song, much of his inspiration comes from his own personal life and stories from our veterans. Each and every show he performs is an entertaining and memorable experience. 

Travis Marvin
Independent country artist Travis Marvin has gathered quite the fan following with his rock-infused songs & a close connection with his fans. The awesome passion for country music is evident when you hear Travis perform and it's obvious that he truly enjoys entertaining a crowd. This Kansas City native has been rocking stages all over the midwest for nearly a decade, gaining an enthusiastic following wherever he goes. His shows are full of energy and amazing musical talent. 

Grayson Wood
Grayson Wood is a singer, songwriter, and recording artist that believes music is like family traditions and entertaining an audience is just as normal and easy as having a conversation with a friend. He creates a type of hybrid sound of classic Americana, cowboy songs, country, and southern rock. His musical career has spanned 4 decades, performing all across the country. Fans all over the world have fallen in love with his musical talent. 

Steven Hunt 

As a "1-man, 5-piece band," Steven puts on a very unique and exciting show. He plays acoustic, electric and bass guitars, drums, percussion, keyboard, harmonica, and more, combining the sounds together with a "Boss" Loop to give the illusion of a full band, yet he is the only one playing it all! (And it's all live! He uses no pre-recorded tracks.) He performs many songs that will be familiar to you from a variety of genres, but with a sound unlike anyone else.

National Salad Month is in Full Swing at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina

Last week's blog mentioned the fact that May is 3 different delicious months in 1 - BBQ Month, Burger Month, & Salad Month. You learned all about how to celebrate National Burger Month this May at the Lake of the Ozarks last week. (Click that link if you missed it!) Our sister restaurant, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse handles the BBQ (exquisitely, we might add,) so this week is all about Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina's amazing salads. 

The Savory Salads of Shorty Pants Lounge
Salads are the perfect dish to keep your meal light and healthy. The way we prepare them at our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant & bar, they are hearty enough to satisfy any hunger too! Our main dish salads are full of fresh, filling ingredients that are sure to please even the heartiest of appetites. 

Summer Spinach Salad
Fresh spinach, apple slices, grapes, and heirloom tomatoes topped with grilled chicken and served with our house raspberry balsamic dressing.

Caesar Salad
Crisp romaine lettuce tossed with our own Caesar dressing, croutons, and parmesan cheese. You may also have us add either grilled chicken or blackened shrimp on top. 

Cobb Salad
The King of salads! A platter of fresh spinach and spring mix topped with smoked ham, smoked turkey, crumbled bacon, hard-boiled egg, avocado, tomatoes, red onion, and cheddar and Provel cheese. (If it's too much for you, order the half-portion!) 

Blackened Salad
Blackened strips of beef tenderloin or chicken with bacon, tomatoes, and bleu cheese crumbles over a bed of fresh greens served with our Cajun bleu cheese dressing. 

Ahi Tuna Salad
A 6-oz. sesame-encrusted Sashimi grade tuna filet cooked to your liking (try it blackened!) and served over a fresh spring mix with feta cheese, heirloom tomatoes, and our house remoulade dressing.  

If you're looking for a smaller portion of salad to enjoy alongside a plate of the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks, give one of these versions a try. 

Mini Caesar
A smaller version of the original with a crouton. You may also add grilled chicken or blackened shrimp. 

Side Garden Salad
Fresh greens garnished with heirloom tomatoes, zucchini, squash, shredded Provel cheese, all topped with a crouton. 

Many of our salads come with a dressing specially chosen to complement the ingredients, but you are welcome to choose from any of our salad dressing options.

Celebrate National Burger Month This May at the Lake of the Ozarks

The month of May is all about a couple of delicious sections of the menu at our waterfront restaurant & bar at the Lake of the Ozarks - it's both National Burger Month AND National Salad Month! (It's actually National BBQ Month as well, which you can celebrate at our sister restaurant, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach too!) 

To get you excited about celebrating at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina this month (and hungry for it) this week we're highlighting our specialty burgers and the fantastic side dishes you can enjoy with them. Next week we'll zone in on our savory salads. 

Signature Burgers at Shorty Pants Lounge
A big, hearty burger is a dish that always seems to hit the spot. If you're searching for the best burgers at the Lake of the Ozarks, then look no further than Shorty Pants Lounge! Sure, we're most widely known for our delicious Cajun cuisine, but our chefs know how to make an amazing burger too!

The most important part of any burger is the meat itself, and we prepare ours using the very best ground beef available. It all comes from Midwest beef supplies located in Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska. 

Once you have the perfect burger, it becomes truly unique when you begin adding all sorts of toppings to it. You are welcome to come up with our own burger creation using the many toppings we have listed below, or you can choose one of the following scrumptious recipes from our menu.

A delicious combo of certified Angus beef and Jack's famous Tennessee whiskey served on Asiago Focaccia bread.
