Our Amazing Appetizers Are a Great Way to Start Any Meal

The "Starters" portion of the Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina menu is filled with appetizers that are the perfect "start" to any meal. Of course, the servings are large and the flavor is huge, so rather than sharing a plate with friends before lunch or dinner, you may want to order an appetizer for just yourself as your main meal. 

Either way, your visit to our waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks will be deliciously satisfying when one (or more) of these tasty appetizers are a part of your order.   


Creole Quesadilla
Andouille sausage, crawfish, and shrimp are the staples, and the added pepper jack cheese and sauteed peppers and onions bring the flavor. 

 Smoked Wings
Our house-smoked wings are served original, extra hot, garlic parmesan, or barbecue and come in orders of 5, 10, 20, or 30.

 Brie and Fruit Platter

Brie cheese, grapes, and sliced apples served with a fresh baguette and apricot jalapeno jelly. 


Fried Green Tomatoes
Green tomatoes deep-fried to a golden brown and served with our house Cajun mayo.

 Turbodog Queso
Our house-made spicy cheese sauce gets its full-bodied flavor from Louisiana's Abita Turbodog beer. Served with tortilla chips.

 Blackened Chicken Nachos
Tortilla chips piled high and smothered in our Turbodog cheese sauce, then topped with spicy chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, green onions, and jalapenos, served with our salsa and sour cream. 

Chicken Tenders
Fresh chicken tenders are hand-breaded and fried to a golden brown. 

 Cajun Fried Oysters
Lively seasoned, hand-breaded, southern-fried oysters served with our house bloody mary cocktail sauce. 

Crab Cakes
2 handmade shrimp and lump blue crab meat cakes rolled in seasoned bread crumbs and topped with shrimp in our seafood cream sauce. 

 Crab Artichoke Spinach Dip
A mouthwatering mixture of crab, spinach, artichoke, and blended cheese served warm with tortilla chips.


Blackened Shrimp
Large gulf shrimp seasoned and blackened in one of our cast iron skillets, served with a lemon wedge. 

 Sweet Coconut Shrimp
Sweet coconut and crunchy frosted flakes combined send these huge gulf shrimp over the top! Served with a sweet raspberry sauce. 

 Peel and Eat Shrimp
Large shrimp spice-boiled and served with our own bloody mary cocktail sauce. 

 Big Easy Shrimp
Large gulf shrimp sauteed in Budweiser, rosemary, butter, and a zesty lemon sauce.

Seared Ahi Tuna
6-oz. sesame encrusted Sashimi style Ahi tuna served with sesame ginger dressing and a wasabi cream sauce. 

 Beignets
Try this French Quarter favorite, Louisiana's doughnut! A perfectly deep-fried pastry tossed in powdered sugar and served with our house made sweet raspberry sauce. 

Yes, the Beignets are both on our appetizer and dessert menus,, but that's because they're so incredibly delicious, all of us here at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina wanted to make sure you had a chance to order them before you filled up on the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks. Spend Your Spring Break at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina

The best waterfront restaurant & bar at the Lake of the Ozarks is open for our 2018 season 7 days a week at 11:00 am! Many of you have some "Spring Break" time coming up soon, and today we've got a few wonderful reasons why you should spend that time right here with us at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina. 

Comfortable Dining - Indoors & Out
No matter what type of weather Mother Nature decides to bring for spring break, it won't stop you from enjoying the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks! If it's sunny and gorgeous, which is what we always hope for, there is lots of seating overlooking that gorgeous lake view. 

 Rain is always a possibility in the spring. After all, we can't have those beautiful spring colors on the trees unless some rain falls. That's never a problem at Shorty Pants because we've also got plenty of seating inside, as well as a fully stocked bar to belly up to. For those pleasant yet chilly evenings, we can even light up the outdoor fireplace under our covered patio. 

Awesome Kids' Menu
If your spring break involves a younger set of children, you'll have no problem finding something delicious to eat for everyone in the family. We've got a kids' menu that even the most finicky diner will love, and you can still enjoy all of the amazing adult meals we have on our extensive menu, like Crab Cake Pasta, Crawfish-N-Shrimp Etouffee, Po Boys, Ribeyes, and more. For the little ones, we've got:

  • Shorty Burger - A quarter pounder, with or without cheese
  • Shorty Pasta - Served with either red sauce or Alfredo sauce
  • Chicken Tenders - Fresh chicken tenders hand-breaded and fried to a golden brown
  • Grilled Cheese - White and American cheese melted together on white bread

 Fully Stocked Marina, Gas Dock, & C-store
A short walk down the dock off of Shorty Pants Lounge brings you to Shorty Pants Marina. As long as you have a light jacket or sweatshirt to put on just in case (we have some great ones for sale!) spring is a wonderful time to get out on the water. It's not too crowded yet, like in mid-summer, and the scenery you'll see is simply breathtaking. 

 Our marina carries everything that you could possibly need for an awesome day out on the lake. You can get fuel for your boat, as well as fuel (aka- snacks, drinks, package liquor, ice, etc...) for your crew. You'll also find sunglasses, hats, toiletries, boat supplies, and much more. 

 If you'll be bringing a boat or PWC to the lake area and need a place to park it, we also have covered dock slips for rent. You can call us at 573-302-1004 to check availability and find out about all of the incredible amenities that come along with your dock slip rental. 

The Perfect Place to Stay
You'll need a place to "park" your body too, and we can even help you out with that! We own 2 of the best vacation rental houses at the Lake of the Ozarks, and they are available all year long. During spring break, the lake isn't too crowded yet, but a lot of places are already open for the season, so you can have lots of fun without lots of people getting in your way.

 Our rental houses are set up to feel like a home away from home, and they are perfect for both families to enjoy or even a big group of your buddies wanting to get away together. Each house has an incredible lake view and is only a short walk down the driveway away from Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina. 

 They both have full kitchens, incredible decks, a BBQ grill, and a washer/dryer, just to name a few of the amenities. The Glass House can hold up to 8 guests, and the Red House can accommodate up to 16 people. Bourbon St. Eats in the Middle of the Lake of the Ozarks!

You may be surprised to find out that you can enjoy the rich, savory recipes of New Orleans right here in mid-Missouri. The Lake of the Ozarks has the best Cajun restaurant outside of Louisiana, and you can enjoy it lakeside all season long. 

Cajun Inspired Cooking
Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina uses rubs and spices direct from Louisiana in our cooking, giving it the flavor you'd expect if you visited the French Quarter in person. Cajun food is a style of cooking that could be classified as a rustic cuisine. The French-speaking Acadian people that made New Orleans their home many years ago created fantastic recipes using ingredients that were easy to find in the region.

 Some of the staples used in Cajun include rice, sausages, seafood, and vegetables. You'll find amazing dishes throughout our extensive menu containing these ingredients. The Bourbon Street Eats section of the menu is rich with them, and it's a great place to start your Midwestern Cajun flavor journey.

 BOURBON STREET EATS
Each of these dishes is served with a garden salad or mini Caesar salad and your choice of French bread or cornbread. 

 Chicken New Orleans
A blackened chicken breast sauteed with a trio of bell peppers paired with a kickin' Cajun cream sauce and served over rice.

 Cajun Alfredo
A mildly spiced Alfredo tossed with fresh fettuccine noodles. Chicken, shrimp, or a combination of both can be added if you like. 

 Voodoo Chicken
A Spicy marinara blackened chicken breast is placed over a bed of sauteed onions, peppers, and rice. 

 Smothered Catfish
A catfish filet served on a bed of rice, smothered in our Crawfish Etoufee. The catfish can be prepared fried or blackened. 

Jambalaya
A Louisiana rice-based dish steeped in rich and subtle spices along with Andouille sausage, smoked chicken, and shrimp. This dish can also be served "dirty." 

 Red Beans 'N' Rice
This classic dish is seasoned to perfection and served with a link of Andouille sausage. 

 Easy Street Trio
You will love this sweet and spicy blush cream sauce with Andouille sausage, shrimp, and tender chicken served over fresh fettuccine. 

 Crab Cake Pasta
2 delicious handmade shrimp and lump Blue crab cakes are placed on a bed of fresh fettuccine with delicious seafood cream sauce. 

Crawfish 'N' Shrimp Etouffee
Crawfish and shrimp smothered in a rich creamy etouffee sauce with Creole vegetables and served with rice.

 Shrimp 'N' Grits
Large shrimp sauteed with Andouille sausage, hickory-smoked bacon, onions, and mushrooms and served over our homemade Cheddar Cheese and Jalapeno Grits. 

 New Orleans Medley
A plateful of our signature entrees; creamy Crawfish Etouffee, rich Jambalaya, Red Beans and Rice, and a half link of our Andouille sausage.

We're Back & Bringing All of Your Lake of the Ozarks Cajun Favorites!

This Friday, March 9, 2018, at 11:00 am, the long winter's wait for the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks will finally be over! That's when we'll be opening the doors for another exciting season at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, and we want you to join us! Most of you already know what to expect, but if you haven't had the pleasure of joining us in the past, here is what we will have waiting for you. 

Amazin' Cajun and More
Our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant is famous for the unbelievable Cajun creations that come out of our kitchen. Using rubs and spices direct from Louisiana, if you close your eyes you'll think you're sitting in the middle of New Orleans rather than lakeside in Mid-Missouri! Some of our most popular Cajun dishes include our World Famous Crab Cakes, Crawfish-N-Shrimp Etouffee, Creole Quesadilla, Po Boys, and Jambalaya. 

 Of course, we also offer lots of traditional favorites without the added Cajun twist on our extensive menu too. You'll find prime rib burgers, savory steaks, fresh salads, delicious seafood, incredible sandwiches and wraps, and even a kids' menu the little ones can't resist. There is plenty of seating both outside by the water and indoors in our smoke-free dining room, so there's a great place to be, no matter what that day's weather may bring. 

Delicious Drinks
If you're in the mood for a cocktail to enjoy along with your meal, or if you simply want to sip and stare at that gorgeous lake view, our bartenders know how to mix a legendary drink! The Cajun Bloody Marys and muddled Mojitos are always a favorite, and we feature those frozen drinks that everyone loves in the summer. You will also be able to enjoy the coldest beer in town and a wonderful selection of wines to choose from.  

Live Entertainment
The best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks can be heard from our outdoor stage. You will find a wonderful mix of soothing sounds to enjoy during dinner and on into a lovely lake night along with bands that will have you on the dance floor all evening long. We are currently putting the finishing touches on our 2018 schedule, but we'll have it up on the "Events" page of our website very soon. 

Marina & C-Store
Shorty Pants Marina is the best gas dock at the Lake of the Ozarks. In addition to fuel, the fully stocked convenience store offers everything you might need for a day out on the water. They carry boat supplies such as oil, flags, and more, plus you can also pick up snacks, soft drinks, package liquor, suntan lotion, sunglasses, hats, koozies, and shirts, just to name a portion of what they have in store. When you stop by, we'll even have rocking and lounge chairs for you to relax in, free coffee, free dog treats, and free popsicles for the kiddos!

If you are looking for a place to park your boat or jet ski while you're in the lake area, our marina has 35 covered slips sized from 14x36 to 20x56, as well as PWC slip rentals. If you are interested in renting one of our remaining slips, give us a call at 573-302-1004. Amenities included with your slip rental include:

A Perfect Place to Stay
Not only can we fuel both you and your watercraft, but we can also offer you a place to stay with two of the best vacation rental houses at the Lake of the Ozarks. They are located right next door to Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, so joining us for fun is only a short walk away. 

 Both vacation rental houses have an amazing lake view, plus all the comforts of home for groups both large and small. They each feature gorgeous decks, a full kitchen, a BBQ grill, washer and dryer, and spacious areas for everyone to enjoy. You can check availability and book a vacation house online direclty through our website, or visit www.Homeaway.com and type in the house's listing number. (the Glass House: 825630vb, and the Red House: 830216vb) Both options offer more details and photos of each house. 
     
The Glass House features 1,500 square feet of living space and can sleep up to 8 guests comfortably. There are 2 queen size beds, 1 full bed, and a sleeper sofa in the living room, plus 2 bathrooms.  

The Red House offers 3,400 square feet to enjoy and can house up to 16 guests. There are 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in this beauty, plus another 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom "Love Shack" not connected to the main property.

 Dog Days Bar & Grill is throwing an amazing Mardi Gras Pub Crawl Pre-Party on Friday, February 16 featuring the Mixtapes and the Dope Ass Sneakers onstage. On Saturday for the actual pub crawl, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse has Dale Blue from 4-8 pm and DJ Vinyl Richy from 8 pm-close, plus it is Happy Hour all day on Sunday at the Boot to help you recover from the weekend! Three entire days of fun before heading home.  

One more party coming soon is St. Patrick's Day at the Lake. It falls on Saturday, March 17 this year, so it's going to be bigger and better than ever! There are parades both on and off the water, and the best waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks will be open by then. (Conveniently, right next door to our vacation rental houses!)       

 You're Getting Married
If you've got a wedding to plan, there are 2 Bridal Shows happening in the lake area that you should check out. Our vacation rental houses are big enough to house your entire wedding party so you can bring them along to help with the planning, or simply to enjoy a few fun days away together. 

 While you're at it, go ahead and reserve the dates to stay with us when you come back for the bachelor & bachelorette parties, plus the wedding weekend itself. The Lake of the Ozarks Bridal Show at the Lodge of Four Seasons is Sunday, February 18 (the day after the Marid Gras Pub Crawl!) and the Missouri Bridal Expo is at Old Kinderhook on Sunday, March 18 (the day after St. Pat's!)

A wonderful annual fundraising event, the Polar Bear Plunge, is happening at the Lake of the Ozarks on Saturday, February 24 this year. Participating in this event is not for the faint of heart, but you only live once, right? If you're up for braving the icy cold water, convince a few friends to join you and get signed up. If you're staying in our Red House or the Glass House, you'll have a toasty warm place to thaw out afterward, and the houses even have washers and dryers to take care of those wet clothes. Exciting Winter Events at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's a brand new year, and 2018 has a lot of incredible events at the Lake of the Ozarks coming your way. You don't have to wait until the summer season begins before that excitement starts. Eagle Days
January 6-7 
The Lake of the Ozarks is a wonderful place to view the majestic Eagle, and this weekend celebrates that. Last year over 3,700 people were in attendance. There will be programs featuring live eagles, boat cruises and special spots to do some bird-watching, and fun activities for all ages in various locations. Grab your binoculars and head on back to the lake for some fun with nature. There's plenty of room in our vacation rental houses to bring the entire family with you! 

Whiskey Pairing Dinner

Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach (just a short drive from our Lake of the Ozarks vacation rental houses) will host 2 Whiskey Pairing Dinners, with the first seating at 5:30 pm and a second at 8:15 pm. You will enjoy a 5-course gourmet dinner specially created for this event, and every course will be paired with an exquisite whiskey from the Jim Beam family of America's best bourbons. Seating will be limited, and you can purchase tickets in advance at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse.   

FREE Wedding Vow Renewals
Bridal Cave
January 11
Every year Bridal Cave invites married couples to renew their vows near Valentine's Day inside their stalactite-adorned underground wedding chapel. This event is free, and participants will get a goodie bag filled with all kinds of lake area discounts, fresh flowers for the bride, a downloadable wedding portrait, and a lifetime pass to tour Bridal Cave, which is absolutely beautiful and open year-round.  

 Valentine's Day
February 14
This romantic holiday falls on a Wednesday this year, so if you can spare the time away from work, you can spend the entire week in one of our vacation rentals to celebrate! There are free wedding vow renewals the weekend before, and the biggest party at the Lake of the Ozarks and a bridal show the weekend after! What a great excuse to get away! (And at the time this was written, our vacation rentals were still available...)  

 Mardi Gras Pub Crawl Pre-Party
Dog Days Bar & Grill
February 16
Dog Days Bar & Grill is closed for the season like we are this time of year, but they are opening for a special one-night-only event on the Friday before the Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pub Crawl to make that amazing weekend even more exciting than usual! The 90's hip-hop band "Dope Ass Sneakers" will hit the stage at 8 pm, followed by a crowd favorite from the last 2 AquaPaloozas, "The Mixtapes!" Ticket sales will be limited, and you can buy them for $10 in advance or $15 at the door while they last.  


Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pub Crawl
February 17
If you haven't experienced this gigantic pub crawl, then you have definitely got to get yourself to the lake for it this year! The purchase of a $10 wristband gives you access to all of the bars and restaurant on the pub crawl route (14 so far) plus a ride to and from each of them on the pub crawl busses. Every venue features live music, and busses start crawling at 4:00 pm.

February 18
Getting married soon? The Lake of the Ozarks is a gorgeous place to tie the knot, and this bridal show will introduce you to many of the incredible wedding vendors in the area. You and your entire wedding party can make a whole weekend of it and stay together in either our Red House of the Glass House, then hop on the expressway to head to the bridal show and begin planning your lake area wedding.    

Once March rolls around, it will be time for your favorite Cajun restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks to open our doors for the 2018 season! Our vacation houses are available to rent year-round though, and they are the perfect home away from home for you to stay in while you're in town!

We partner with BomBay Boat Rental Company to offer access to their awesome ski boat, tritoon, and jet ski rentals to guests in our vacation rental houses.  Boat Slip Rental
If the person you are buying for already has a boat or jet ski of their own, you can rent them a place to park it in one of the slips at the best marina at the Lake of the Ozarks. There are a total of 35 covered slips at Shorty Pants Marina in sizes from 14x26 to 20x56, as well as PWC slip rentals. Marina amenities are included, such as showers, a washer/dryer, free wifi, free electric, free ice, gas discounts, gated parking, and the cleanest restrooms at the lake! As an added bonus, the slips are just a few steps away from Shorty Pants Lounge for food, drinks, live music, and always an amazing time! 

A Weekend Getaway

Check next season's calendar now and book either the Red House or the Glass House for a weekend, or an entire week, that something special is happening in the area. Dates book up fast for things like the Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras pub crawl in February, AquaPalooza each July at Dog Days Bar & Grill, and the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in August.
