 It's almost time for the Lake’s Favorite Cajun Restaurant to re-open for the 2014 season!! Shorty Pants Lounge is ready to say goodbye to winter and will  kick of the season on March 7th!

The Lake's Favorite Cajun Restaurant will be serving up their authentic creole menu that's straight out of New Orleans.   Come out and try our World Famous Crab Cakes, Gumbo, Crawfish Étoufée, Shrimp, Catfish, as well as more traditional fare such as mouthwatering steaks and award winning baby back ribs. Shorty Pants has signature sandwiches and wraps like the Steak ‘n Cheese sub or the Asiago Chicken sandwich. We also have a kid’s menu for the little ones.

If the spring weather is a little chilly - don't worry!!  Shorty Pants has you covered with indoor seating or you can sit outside by the fireplace. Once the weather warms up, enjoy our huge waterfront deck,  live music and a great atmosphere.

Our restaurant is “Smoke-Free” inside and offers plenty of seating outside. Catch all your sports in the outdoor lounge or inside. The 13th Annual Wing Ding Competition is Almost Here!!

It's time for the 13th Annual Lake of the Ozarks Wing Ding and our very own sister restaurant, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, will be competing for the title of the BEST WINGS!!!  

The Wing Ding is a charitable event that benefits the United Cerebral Palsy Heartland through a local restaurant competition for the title of BEST WINGS!! Although the competition is very friendly, it is highly sought after by all the Lake Area chefs, so they bring only their very best to the competition!  This Thursday night from 5-7pm you can help support a great cause and have all-you-can-eat wings and 2 drinks for only $12.50 per person in advance (or $15 at the door)!!

Come out Thursday night and purchase your ticket to help raise money for the UCP AND enjoy all you can eat wings and 2 drinks.  Be sure to visit the Wobbly Boots booth and get some of the best wings at Lake of the Ozarks!!

2012 Lake of the Ozarks Harbor Hop

This weekend is the 26th Annual Fall Harbor Hop at Lake of the Ozarks!

Once again Shorty Pants Lounge will be participating in the Annual Fall Harbor Hop and we are excited to see boating enthusiasts come out for some Lake of the Ozark Hopping!  The event is sponsored by the Lake of the Ozarks Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Marine Dealers Association and Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurants.

The Harbor Hop is a boating event in which participants will hop from various restaurants and marinas to draw playing cards in order to build a winning had that is eligible for prizes.  Boaters that want to participate can donate $15 per seven-card hand.  You can start your hop anywhere and begin drawing your first card at any of the 30+ sponsoring restaurants and marinas.  For a complete list go to http://funlake.com/harborhop/

Prize Allocations are as follows:

1st Place - 10%
2nd Place - 9%
3rd Place - 8%
4th Place - 7% each
5th-10th Place - 5 % each
4 Worst Hands - 4% each

Lake of the Ozarks Shootout 2012

The  Annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout will be held at Captain Ron's  Bar & Grill August 18-26th.  The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is the largest unsanctioned boat race in the Midwest and draws over 100 racers and 100,000 spectators and will benefit the Lake Area Rescue Teams and other local charities. 

Powerboat Magazine Readers have voted this race the #1 boat race/shootout in the country and has also been listed as one of the 8 "must see" boating events.  Official speeds in 2011 were clocked at 208 mph, a few claiming even faster speeds.  This year new radar guns may prove these claims to be true.  In 2011, Bill Tomlinson hit speeds of 208 on three different runs, Skater boats were flying at 191 mph and even the pontoons were racing at speeds of 107 mph. This will be a great year to check out the races and hopefully see some record-breaking speeds from the racers.

Shorty Pants Lounge is Lake of the Ozark's Favorite Cajun Restaurant with a menu offering some great items that won't leave you hungry!!

Shorty Pants' menu is straight out of New Orleans and you won't find anything like it at Lake of the Ozarks.   You will think you are eating in the French Quarter when you bite into our food using rubs and spices direct from Louisiana.  We serve some cajun favorites like like Gumbo, Crawfish Etoufee, Crab, Cakes, Shrimp and Catfish and so much more.

STARTERS  There are so many unique options to choose from.  For a true cajun experience, order our Alligator Eggs, Cajun Fried Oysters, Duck Tenders or Cajun Popcorn - or if you are looking for a more traditional appetizer, we have delicious crab artichoke spinach dip or peel and eat shrimp.

Aqua Palooza 2012

The Lake of the Ozarks Largest Family Boating Event is back at Dog Days Bar & Grill this Saturday!!  

This event draws people from all over the United States and it looks like this could be the biggest year ever!!  All Boaters are invited to attend for an afternoon filled with boating, family, friends, games, prizes and a FREE CONCERT!!!  AquaPalooza is a celebration of the boating lifestlye but the event is not limited to just boaters.  Whether you come by land or by water, there is plenty of fun activities for the entire family!!  

This year Dog Days has put together a great band schedule for Aqua Palooza!!  Whether you are looking for country, pop, Hard Rock or R&B classics, this FREE concert has 4 bands that are sure to satisfy.  

The Australian Trio will rock the stage!!!

The McClymonts will be on stage at the Dog Saturday afternoon!  The three gorgeous sisters from Australia have taken the country music world by storm with their exquisite harmonies, soaring vocals and onstage presence. The group collectively has 15 Golden Guitars awards and an ARIA Award.  The McClymonts have had some great hits like "Kick It Up," "Wrapped Up Good," "Hearts on Fire,"  "A Women is a Flame" and their latest hit "I Could Be a Cowboy."  You won't want to miss it!!

Trailer Choir at the Dog for AquaPalooza!!

Trailer Choir was discovered by Toby Keith and began touring with the country superstar on his huge national tours in 2007.  The lead singer Butter and Big Vinny make up this country duo and provide a high energy performance.  Hearty, happy and catchy songs like "Rockin' the Beer Gut," "Rollin' through the Sunshine" and "Off the Hillbilly Hook" have made this group instantly popular in the world of country music.

Hells Bells will also be part of the Free concerts for Aqua Palooza.   The band is the number one AC/DC tribute band and tours 42 states in 50 weeks each year.  Hells Bells salutes the driving force of AC/DC with crazy antics, total energy and full blown adrenaline.  Feel the Thunder....Feel The Power of AC/DC....Hells Bells!!

Last but not least, Rock Paper Scissors, an acoustic vocal trio, will deliver the pop rock and R&B classics that everyone loves to hear.  The group was formed in 2007 and perform classic hits by Little Feat, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Crosby Stills and Nash.

This party has it all!!  There will be silent auction with a wide variety of auction items available like autographed memorabilia, jewelry, golf bags, boat anchors and a wine cooler, just to name a few.  For only $10 per person, you can enjoy a delicious All-You-Can-Eat Buffet with some Dog Day favorites!! Need another reason to come by and join the party...we've got it!!! The YMCA will be giving away a 2012 Kawasaki Jet Ski STX-15F and the pre-party will be your last chance to buy your raffle ticket for a chance to win!!!  Don't worry, you don't have to actually be a rider to have a good time with the YMCA family - this event is open to the public and everyone is welcome!!  

For those interested in participating in the Three Rivers Run - the pre-party will be your chance to register for the event.  We will have waivers and registration forms available.  There will also be a short safety meeting to discuss water conditions, PWC safety, fuel stops and any other questions that participants may have.

The Launch Party will be July 11th at 7am on the Osage River at the Bagnell Dam.  Participants will ride on the Osage River to the Missouri River and finally to the Mighty Mississippi.  The ride is expected to start by 8:30am and end at the St Louis Arch at approximately 5:30pm.  There will be an After-Party at Harrah's Hotel & Casino.  Fuel, oil and lunch will be provided for the riders.  Cost is $750 per rider and $100 for an additional rider on the same PWC.
