Having Fun & Raising Awareness - The Warriors Against Melanoma Poker Run

Shorty Pants Lounge is proud to be involved in this Saturday's Warriors Against Melanoma Poker Run.  Your favorite Cajun restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks is one of the six waterfront card stops.  Everyone participating in this event will learn valuable information about a dangerous skin cancer and raise money for the cause all while having a great afternoon of fun on the water. 

Warriors Against Melanoma (WAM) was founded in April 2014 by a stage 3 melanoma survivor.  It is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to raising awareness of this terrible disease, raising funds for research and eventually a cure, and also directly assisting families dealing with melanoma.  A very scary fact is that one person dies every hour, every day in the United States from this.  Last year WAM donated nearly $30,000 to the cause.

Bonus cards for your hand can be purchased at the prize party, or you can earn a free bonus card by reciting 3 melanoma and skin cancer facts that will be given verbally at each card stop. 

Grab your sunscreen and join the crowd this Saturday for an exciting competition across the lake.  Shorty Pants Lounge will be ready to hand you a (hopefully) winning card before you head on over to our sister restaurant for the after party.  After all of that excitement, be sure to swing back by your favorite waterfront Cajun restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks to show us what you've won and enjoy Dustin Clark performing on our stage from 7 pm - 11 pm.

August is just around the corner, and all of us here at the best Cajun restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks are excited about the incredible live music we have lined up for the month.  We are also a part of a great poker run raising money for a very worthwhile cause, and we're holding the after party for another poker run.  Shorty Pants Lounge is the best waterfront restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks to enjoy a beautiful, August Summer day.

2nd Annual Warriors Against Melanoma Poker 

Warriors Against Melanoma is a non-profit organization, and the proceeds from this poker run fundraiser will benefit melanoma research for better treatments, and hopefully a cure, for melanoma.  Proceeds from this event will also benefit the Family Assistance program for families battling late-stage melanoma needing help with medical expenses. Here are the important details so that you can join us for this very worthwhile day of fun and have a chance to win restaurant gift certificates or a brand new iPad.

Run PWC Dam Poker Run After-Party

This Shootout related Poker Run offers you an opportunity to raise money for various Lake are charities while enjoying an incredible 150-mile adventure on your PWC.  On Saturday, August 15, participants will begin at the Surdyke KK Marina and travel to Truman Dam before heading back.  Along the way there will be opportunities to stop and pick up cards for your poker hand, jump from a cliff, swing from a rope, and more! When the ride is over, everyone will be heading to Shorty Pants Lounge to compare poker hands, receive prizes, and hear the wonderful Steven Woolley perform.  Registration for the PWC Dam Poker Run includes one poker hand, food at both the lunch stop and the after-party, and one t-shirt.     

Lots of incredible live music, a rewarding poker run, and as always, the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks.  Shorty Pants Lounge is the best place to spend as many days as possible out of your August schedule.  We are going to be having as much fun as possible, leading up to an incredible Labor Day weekend.
