Harbor Hop, Crawl for the Roses, & Adrian Bartholomew - May 7, 2016

The unofficial opening to the 2016 boating season is nearly here, and we are having a hard time containing our excitement! One of the best annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks is happening Saturday, May 7, 2016 - the 19th Annual Spring Harbor Hop. Shorty Pants Lounge and Dog Days Bar & Grill should definitely be on your top stops list. Everyone's favorite Cajun restaurant also has a couple of extra surprises planned for everyone. 

Shorty Pants is Where the Fun's At!

The first card will be dealt at 11 am when we open for business, and we'll keep handing them out until 7 pm when the Harbor Hop wraps up. During that entire time, and later on that evening too, your favorite waterfront restaurant will be serving up all of your Cajun favorites. In addition to that, we've got some extra entertainment lined up for you on Saturday. 

The awesome Adrian Bartholomew will be entertaining our crowds again this season. During Harbor Hop, he will be charming our customers from 2-6 pm with his entertaining mix of classic favorites and original music. You can check him out at www.bartholomusic.com.  

Shorty Pants Lounge, along with our sister BBQ restaurant, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, will be a stop for the 1st Annual Crawl For The Roses at the Lake between 3-6 pm. In case you didn't know it already, this coincides with the running of the Kentucky Derby. This fun event is sponsored by Four Roses Kentucky Bourbon, and it will feature roses for the first 30 ladies, a prize for the best derby hat, and Four Roses souvenir cups. That's sure a lot of incredible stuff to be happening in one day, but we're going to do it!

Winner, Winner, Creole Chicken Dinner

Everyone that decides to try their hand at forming the best (or possibly the worst) poker hand will get the chance to win gift certificates from many of the best establishments at the Lake of the Ozarks. The total amount will be decided by the amount of $20 optional donations that are collected from each participant. This is how it will all break down:

1st Place: 10%
2nd Place: 9%
3rd Place: 8%
4th Place: 7% each
5th - 10th Place: 5% each
4 Worst Hands: 4% each
Random Drawing for 10 Hands: 2% each
(all ties will share the allocated percentage for the placing)

The Bonus
In addition to the regular prize winners, a section winner will be recognized. To be eligible to be a section winner, a player must draw all seven (7) cards within one of the four sections listed below.

Harbor Hop Rules

You may start your Harbor Hop at any one of the over 45 participating waterfront bars and restaurants. After collecting the first card for your poker hand there, you will then travel to six more stops, grabbing another card at each one. The route is your choice, anyplace on the list, in any order you feel like hopping. The final stop is where you will turn in your hand. If you aren't completely satisfied with your cards, that last stop will give you the option of buying an additional 8th card for $5. 

To qualify for prizes, your poker hand must be turned in by 7 pm. Winners will be notified by mail. The Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitors Bureau retains 60% of the money collected to promote the Lake of the Ozarks. The remaining 40% will be divided among the winners in the form of gift certificates.

Wine Pairings For Your Favorite Shorty Pants Lounge Dishes

Everyone raves about our delicious frozen drinks, muddled mojitos, and Cajun Bloody Marys, but Shorty Pants Lounge also has a very nice selection of wines at our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar. A refreshing glass of wine by the water's edge with the gorgeous Osage Beach scenery surrounding you is a marvelous way to spend an afternoon.

If you prefer to have that nice glass of wine with your meal. we have a few suggestions for a few that pair beautifully with some of our incredible menu items. 

Chardonnay

The rich and complex fruit flavors of a Chardonnay makes it the most popular U.S. white wine. We have a Cakebread Chardonnay that is exquisite with our VooDoo Chicken, and the Kendall Jackson Chardonnay pairs wonderfully with the Mahi Tacos.

Silver Peak Sauvignon Blanc

This crisp and refreshing wine is extremely flexible when it comes to pairing it with food. It is a nice alternative if you are a Chardonnay fan looking for something a bit different. The crisp and refreshing flavor is delicious with our Chicken, Spinach, and Grape Salad. 

Cliffhanger Pinot Grigio

A light and crisp flavor with great acidity, Pinto Grigio is excellent with fish dishes. We like to serve this one with our Asian Shrimp Salad. 

Block Nine Pinot Noir

Light-bodied, silky, and sensual, this wine is full of flavor. It is excellent with our popular Cajun dish, the Shrimp and Grits.

Dreaming Tree Crush Red Blend

This red blend features the flavors of some of California's finest varieties. The raspberry jam and vanilla oak characters and juicy mixed berry flavors are enhanced by rich foods. We suggest the Surf and Turf with this one. 

Skinny Girl Moscato

A sweet wine made from the Muscat grape, it may be one of the oldest cultivated varieties in the world. Moscato is much more than simply a dessert wine. The fruits used in this one offer the perfect flavor to pair with our brand new Sausage and Cheese Platter, which consists of sharp white cheddar, hickory smoked cheddar, Chianti red wine salami, smoked andouille sausage, and house-made croutons. 

Our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar also has another platter this year that is perfect for a bite to eat with a nice glass of wine or any of our delicious mixed cocktails. The Brie and Fruit Platter features brie cheese, grapes and sliced apples, fresh baguette, and apricot jalapeno jelly. 

We may talk a lot about having the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks, but our menu has a lot more to offer than just that. Shorty Pants Rental Houses - Brand New for 2016

You have always been able to get the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks along with the best drinks, most amazing live entertainment, friendliest customer service, and best gas dock and C-store at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina. That just didn't seem like enough for our awesome customers. Now, in addition to all of that, we have two incredible rental houses for you to spend your nights at the lake in.

Conveniently located in Osage Beach, off of Hwy. KK and Three Seasons Road, and on the 21 MM right next to Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, are the Glass House and the Red House. These rentals are brand new, just waiting to be filled with happy lake memories. The perfect place for a family vacation or getaway with friends.  

THE GLASS HOUSE

With 1,500 square feet of living space, lakefront access, and breathtaking panoramic lake views, you will definitely be getting the full "lake experience." This rental property can sleep up to 8 guests comfortably with two queen size beds, one full bed, and a sleeper sofa in the living room.

It offers three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, and all the appliances you could need, including a washer and dryer. There is a 44-foot deck for lounging and entertaining. The outdoor dining area has gas grills for use, and if you don't feel like cooking, Shorty Pants Lounge is right next door.   

THE RED HOUSE

If you are needing a little more space than that, this rental may be the one you are looking for. There are four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and 3,400 square feet of living space. You will also have lakefront access and the same amazing panoramic views that the Glass House boasts.

The upper level hosts one room with a queen size bed and a day bed, and the top level living area has a sleeper sofa. The master suite is also upstairs, and it contains a king size bed and it's own full bathroom. This upper level houses another full bathroom and the washer and dryer. 

Downstairs you will find one bedroom with another king size bed, one bedroom with a queen size bed, and a sleeper sofa in the living area. The other 1. 5 bathrooms are on this level, plus the kitchen, and you will find the same necessary appliances as in the other rental house. It also features a beautiful outdoor dining area with gas grills on a 44-foot deck.    

As we mentioned earlier, both of our Lake of the Ozarks rental houses are next door to Shorty Pants Lounge and Marina. A courtesy dock is available upon request, and there are two boat ramps nearby. We have partnered with BomBay Boat Rental Company. They offer ski boats, tritoons, and jet ski rentals for an awesome adventure out on the water. 

If you will be bringing your own boat, our marina has covered boat slips available, plus a full-service gas dock and fully stocked C-store for all of your boating needs.

Shorty Pants Lounge has an extensive menu full of tasty choices. The menu is so large, it's way too big for today's blog, so we'll be sharing a different section occasionally throughout the season. PO BOYS
A Louisiana tradition with a bit of our own Lake of the Ozarks flair. Served along with your choice of one of our delicious side dishes.  

Catfish Po Boy

Southern Fried catfish topped with our homemade Cajun mayo, lettuce, and tomato. You can order it fried, or try it blackened for a spicy kick. 

Oyster Po Boy

Big gulf oysters deep fried to a golden brown on French bread with lettuce, tomato, and homemade Cajun mayo. 

Shrimp Po Boy

A delicious combination of hand breaded shrimp, lettuce, tomato, and house made Cajun mayo.

Andouille Sausage Po Boy

Smoked Cajun sausage and our homemade remoulade sauce are served with shredded lettuce and tomato.


BLACK ANGUS BURGERS
Our savory Black Angus burgers are each served with a side of your choice. We also have the following toppings available if you want to add even more flavor to our specialty burgers: American, Swiss, Cheddar, Provolone, Pepper Jack, Bleu, & Feta cheeses, bacon, sauteed mushrooms, sauteed onions, sauteed green peppers, and jalapenos. 

Salt Hollow Burger

Our infamous Black Angus burger, served your way.

Jack Daniels Burger

A delicious combo of Black Angus beef and Jack's famous bourbon. Served on Asiago focaccia bread.

Black & Bleu Burger

We blacken spice our classic burger, charbroil it, and then top it with bleu cheese crumbles.

Black Jack Burger

We blacken spice our classic burger once again, then top this one off with Pepper Jack cheese and jalapenos. 

Bacon Cheddar Burger

Our house-smoked bacon and cheddar cheese gets this burger poppin'. It's served with lettuce, tomato, and onion.


SANDWICHES
These sandwiches are sure to fill you up and energize you for a day full of fun at the lake. Each is served with your choice of a side dish. 

Catfish BLT

Now you're in the South! A hand breaded catfish filet served with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and our Cajun mayo on a toasted French roll. 

Cajun Club

We stuff this double-decker with smoked turkey, ham, bacon, Swiss cheese, American cheese, lettuce, and tomato all on sourdough bread with our Cajun mayo. 

Pulled Pork Sandwich

Our award-winning Wobbly Boots Roadhouse recipe, piled high on a toasted Kaiser. Served with Wobbly Boots house-recipe BBQ sauce. 

Steak 'N' Cheese

Strips of beef tenderloin, grilled and smothered in white American cheese on a toasted French roll. You can even ask us to add sauteed mushrooms, onions, or green peppers. 

Ahi Tuna Sandwich

6 ounces of Sashimi grade tuna, sesame seed encrusted and cooked to temperature. It can be served either as a sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and onion, or over rice with our house remoulade dressing. Try this one blackened, too.

Fried Green Tomato BLT

A big, meaty sandwich! Bacon, fried green tomatoes, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and our house made Cajun mayo.

We've Got It All At Shorty Pants Marina

The best marina at the Lake of the Ozarks sits just below Shorty Pants Lounge. Our gas dock and c-store have a little bit of everything that you need for a day out on the water. We are located at the 21 MM by water in Salt Hollow Cove, and by land you will find us at the end of Three Seasons Road off of State Road KK in Osage Beach, MO.

Shorty Pants Marina has been voted the Lake of the Ozarks Best Gas Dock by lake area residents for the past 6 years. The incredible customer service, marina amenities, and useful items for sale make us everyone's favorite, year after year. 

Boat Slips

We offer 35 covered slips in our marina. They vary in size from 14' X 36' up to 20' X 56'. If you are interested, please give us a call at 573-302-1004 for availability and additional details.

Our gas dock has won the Lake Lifestyles "Best Gas Dock at the Lake" for 6 years running. Swing by in your watercraft and fill up with 87 Octane, 93 Octane, or Diesel. While you're filling up your boat or waverunner, a trip through our c-store gives you the chance to do some shopping.   

C-Store 

The convenience store located on our gas dock carries both necessary items for a day out on the water, as well as many other things that will make your day on the water a lot more fun. Pick up something for the boat, grab a snack, find a little Shorty Pants swag, or sit for a spell. A few things that you will find in our c-store are:
