Memorial Day Activities at Shorty Pants!

Did you know??

Memorial Day was originally known as "Decoration Day," because it was a day to visit and leave flowers on the graves of fallen soldiers who had fought in the Civil War. The name was changed to Memorial Day in the 1880s when it was expanded to remember all U.S. Military men and women.

New York was the first northern state to celebrate Memorial Day, and Mississippi was the first southern state.

Technically, flags should only be held at half-mast until noon on Memorial Day, and then they should be raised to the top of the staff.

Memorial Day Weekend is almost here! Most Americans celebrate this long weekend as the official start to summer, but it's important to remember the roots of this big holiday.

Join Shorty Pants Lounge in celebrating the U.S. Military men and women who sacrificed so much. It is thanks to them that we will have the opportunity to make such great memories this weekend!
