Once spring 2021 finally gets here (which lands on Saturday, March 20), you know there will be all kinds of fun things to enjoy in the lake area, including hanging out at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina with us! (We usually open back up early in March, so be sure to keep an eye on our social media pages for an exact date!)

Until then, there are still lots of fun annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks for you to participate in. Below we've featured a few of those dates. If you'll be coming from out of town, it's best to book your stay in one of our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront vacation house rentals sooner rather than later so you've got a great place to stay while you're here! 

Shorty Pants Vacation Rental Houses

Our waterfront restaurant & bar at the Lake of the Ozarks has two amazing vacation houses for rent right next door. They come with all the comforts of home and are centrally located to all the fun and excitement that the lake area has to offer year-round. 

The Glass House offers 1,500 square feet of living space and can easily house up to 8 guests. The Red House boasts 3,400 square feet of living space and can sleep up to 16. Both offer plenty of room to bring the whole family along or a large group of friends for a relaxing winter stay at the lake. Both houses have an amazing lake view with large decks to sit on and admire it from. (Of course, if it's too cold while you're here, the view is just as beautiful through the windows!)

Valentine's Day
February 14, 2021
The holiday of romance falls on a Sunday this year, which means you might as well make an entire weekend celebration out of it! Cuddling up by the fireplace or cozying up together to enjoy that gorgeous wintertime lake view are excellent activities for this type of private getaway. Currently, both of our rental houses are available this weekend but don't wait too long to book one!   

Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pub Crawl Passport Weekend
February 19-21, 2021
The Lake Pub Crawl is always an exciting weekend to be in the lake area and this year, instead of just one night to enjoy the festivities, they have extended the party to last three entire days and nights! Due to COVID safety concerns, no busses will be running this year so they are allowing everyone an extended period of time to check-in at every stop.

Polar Plunge
February 27, 2021
Swimming in the lake all summer long is a highlight of a vacation at the Lake of the Ozarks. In the winter, well, not so much. Unless that is, it's for a good cause! 

This annual plunge into the icy cold lake is a family-friendly event that benefits Special Olympics Missouri. If you're brave enough to plunge or just want to watch other people in crazy costumes do it, visit the SOMO website event page.

Lake of the Ozarks St. Patrick's Day Parade

If you've never attended a St. Patrick's Day weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks, you've been missing out on a season-opening celebration like no other! This is the time of year when many of the seasonal spots (like your favorite Cajun restaurant & marina at the Lake of the Ozarks) are back open and ready to start an exciting new year of fun. Start the day with the parade on the historic Bagnell Dam Strip, then head our way for delicious food and more weekend excitement.  

If you do happen to book a stay with us this winter, be sure to check out our sister restaurant Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach. They serve the most amazing hickory-smoked BBQ you've ever tasted, among other delicious dishes. (Including a fantastic Po Boy Sandwich a whole lot like the one we serve here at Short Pants Lounge each summer!) 

As we mentioned earlier, keep an eye on our social media for updates on exactly which date in March we'll be opening the doors for our 2021 season. How To Get You Shorty Pants Lounge "Fix" in the Off-Season

Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina in Osage Beach may be closed until spring 2021, but that doesn't mean you have to do without us until then! As a member of the Barrett Restaurant Group, we are able to offer the best catering at the Lake of the Ozarks year-round. Oh, and if you miss the atmosphere and incredible lake view, well, a stay in one of our vacation rental houses can fix that. 

Shorty Pants Catering

The Barrett Restaurant Group, which is made up of Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, Dog Days Bar & Grill, and Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, caters to the lake area year-round. With such a diverse group of restaurants represented, a wide variety of food choices can be made available. This includes the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks that you've gotten used to enjoying at Shorty Pants Lounge. 

We are able to accommodate groups of all sizes and with enough advance notice, can even load up our delivery vans and deliver the food directly to you. If you are also in need of a venue to host your meeting or event, arrangements can be made to use the private room (complete with a cozy fireplace) at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse. In some cases, we can even open up Shorty Pants or Dog Days in the off-season to host your gathering. We can even help you book the entertainment!

All catering is done on a first-come, first-served basis so the sooner you reserve a spot on our calendar, the better. Reach us at 573-348-4244 or call the Boot at 573-348-2277 to make arrangements. All dates need to be booked in advance with our sales office and a final guest count is needed one week before the event.  

Lakeside Winter Vacation

While many people miss the food from Shorty Pants Lounge during our off-season, quite a few of them also miss being able to enjoy the fantastic lake view that comes along with that food. The good news for all of them is that our waterfront vacation house rentals at the Lake of the Ozarks, located right next door to our restaurant & marina, are open year-round. 

Although Shorty Pants is in "hibernation" all winter, the lake area has plenty of excitement happening, including holiday shopping, New Year's celebrations, romantic weekends, the Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pub Crawl, and much more. Both of our lakefront vacation houses are located in Osage Beach off Hwy. KK on the 21-mile marker. A courtesy dock is also available upon request for your boating needs. 

The first of our two vacation house rentals, the Glass House contains 1,500 square feet of living space with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and the ability to sleep up to 8 comfortably. Here you'll find all the comforts of home, including a washer and dryer, full kitchen, and a gas grill on the 44-foot deck.

Our sister restaurant, Dog Days Bar & Grill, also offers a gorgeous Lake of the Ozarks vacation house rental and it is also available year-round. It is located right next door to the Dog in Osage Beach. This house offers 4,500 square feet of living space and can sleep up to 16 guests.

There are 2 levels containing 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, a full kitchen, and more. There is even a pool table in the house to keep you entertained. Coming up very soon are the Offshore Powerboat Races October. 2-3, 2020, and our very own charity golf tournament, Bogeys & Beer, on October 6. There will also be fun fall festivals to attend and pumpkin patches to visit and a ride on the lake this time of year is a much calmer trip than in mid-summer.

A Lake of the Ozarks Vacation Pit Stop - Shorty Pants Marina

When you take a vacation in the lake area, you've simply got to get out on that gorgeous body of water! To make sure that you have the best day on the water possible, plan to make a pit stop at the best gas dock & marina at the Lake of the Ozarks. As an added bonus, Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina is also a great place to stop for lunch or dinner.  

Boating Essentials & Fuel
Shorty Pants Marina, located on mile marker 21, has just about everything you will need for a full day of fun out on the lake. Our convenient gas dock offers 87 Octane, 93 Octane, and Diesel fuel for your boat or PWC. The gas dock attendants can fill you up before you head out and top you off at the end of the day.

Gas isn't the only boating necessity you will find at Shorty Pants Marina. For the watercraft, you'll find things like oil, fuel stabilizer, watersport flags, batteries, and more. For the boaters, we have personal care items you may have forgotten to pack such as deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, chapstick, toilet paper, sunblock, and sunglasses, to name a few. 

Ice, Drinks, Snacks, & Swag

You'll need refreshments to keep you going all day long out on the water, and our C-store has that for you too. Get ice for your coolers as well as the tasty treats and beverages to fill it with. We've got package liquor, soft drinks, water, and all kinds of snacks.

You can also enjoy free popsicles for the kids, free coffee for the adults, and free dog treats for your 4-legged passengers. Don't forget to pick up your awesome Shorty Pants gear while you're shopping too; cups, koozies, shirts, hats, and so much more.

Boat & PWC Storage

If you need a place to park your watercraft while you're in town, we may be able to help. Our marina has 35 covered boat slips from sizes 14'x36' up to 20'x56' as well as PWC slip rentals. Give us a call at 573-302-1004 to check availability and make arrangements to park here.
