Here's a quick peek at what's in store for you when you do swing by. (You're going to want to time your stop at our Cajun restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks when you know you'll be good and hungry!)

Shorty Pants Lounge Voted "Best Cajun Restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks 2020!"

While we claim to be the best Cajun restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks, our personal opinion may be a bit biased. That's why it's so wonderful to hear that other people, those that don't work here, agree with that statement!

Every year Lake Lifestyles Magazine asks the community to vote on all of their favorite lake area businesses in a wide range of categories. We are extremely proud to accept 1st place in the Best of the Lake's poll this year under the category of "Best Cajun Restaurant!" For those of you that have not yet visited us at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, here's a quick look at what earned us that prestigious title.

Amazing Cajun Cooking
The creative chefs at our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant & bar have come up with some of the most authentic Cajun creations that you will find outside of Louisiana! We've incorporated classic Creole-cooking ingredients like rice, sausage, seafood, and vegetables, into our recipes along with savory rubs and spices that we get direct from Louisiana.

Although we do have many non-Cajun dishes on the menu for a little variety, the bulk of our specialty dishes have an irresistible Cajun flair. You'll find evidence of that sprinkled throughout the extensive menu, from appetizers to entrees, to even our desserts! Here's a sampling of what you'll find, but know that there is a lot more to discover on our full menu.

Sausage & Chicken Gumbo
A hearty helping of our rich gumbo served with rice. Served by the cup of by the bowl.

Big Easy Shrimp
Large Gulf shrimp sauteed in butter, white wine, garlic, lemon, rosemary, and Cajun seasoning.

Creole Quesadilla
A bountiful blend of Andouille sausage, crawfish, shrimp, sauteed peppers, onions, and pepper jack cheese.

Po Boys
We serve this classic Cajun sandwich on a toasted French roll with Cajun mayo, lettuce, tomato, and your choice of Southern-fried or blackened catfish, deep-fried big Gulf oysters, or hand-breaded Gulf shrimp. We also offer an Andouille Sausage Po Boy that is topped with our homemade remoulade plus tomato and shredded lettuce.

Red Beans & Rice
This classic dish is seasoned to perfection and served with a link of Andouille sausage.

Jambalaya
Louisiana rice-based dish steamed in rich and subtle Cajun spices, Andouille sausage, chicken, and shrimp. Try it "dirty" topped with red beans!

Crawfish 'n' Shrimp Etouffee
Crawfish and shrimp smothered in a rich creamy etouffee sauce with Creole vegetables served with rice.

Smothered Catfish
A catfish filet, either fried or blackened, served on a bed of rice and smothered in our Crawfish Etouffee.

Shrimp & Grits
Large shrimp sauteed with Andouille sausage, hickory-smoked bacon, onions, and mushrooms served over homemade cheddar cheese and jalapeno grits.

New Orleans Medley
A plateful of our signature entrees: creamy Crawfish Etouffee, rich Jambalaya, Red Beans & Rice, and a half-link of our Andouille sausage.

Delicious Cajun Inspired Cocktails Too
When you're serving the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks, you simply have to add a few Big Easy-inspired cocktails to the menu too. Hurricanes (the drink, not the storm) are a staple in New Orleans. Not only have we perfected our version of the original recipe but we've added a few of our own Hurricane recipes to the bar menu as well. We also serve up freshly muddled Mojitos and a Cajun Bloody Mary that is bound to become your new favorite!

Want to find out if we're truly deserving of the title of "Best Cajun Restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks"? Come on in and taste for yourself! We're are confident that you will be impressed with the food and drinks we serve here at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina in Osage Beach.

We're open daily at 11:00 am, early spring through late fall. There's still plenty of the 2020 season left for you to come in a few different times and try a few different delicious dishes! Also, for everyone that voted for us this year, from the bottom of all of our hearts, THANK YOU! We look forward to serving you again very soon.

Eat Dessert First - August Says So!

We just recently realized that August is "National Eat Dessert First Month." (We could have been doing that for two weeks already!) Dining on dessert first is really a great idea because after most people enjoy a plate full of the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks, there's little to no room left for it!

When you eat dessert before the main meal, you get to enjoy the sweetest menu treats at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina that you don't always save space in your tummy for. Then, if you run out of room to finish your main meal, well, you've got leftovers to savor tomorrow. Win-win!

We've got three taste-tempting dessert options on the menu at our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant & bar. Here's a closer look at those.

Beignets
Also known as "Louisiana's doughnut", beignets are a favorite in the French Quarter. Thanks to the talented kitchen crew at Shorty Pants Lounge, this is a favorite dish in mid-Missouri too!

A beignet is a perfectly deep-fried pastry tossed in powdered sugar. We serve our version with a side of house-made sweet raspberry sauce to make them even more irresistible. After just one bite, this will be a new staple in your diet every time you dine with us!

Bananas Foster
Great care goes into making this taste-tempting dessert both look and taste phenomenal! First, we cut up fresh bananas into thick slices. Those are sauteed in our Cruzan Black Strap Rum sauce until the two meld together irresistibly. Once ready, it's all topped with cold vanilla bean ice cream and presented to you for enjoyment.

Chocolate Bayou Cobbler
This decadent Hershey's chocolate experience is baked with a scrumptious, golden crust on top. Before bringing it out to you, we add rich vanilla bean ice cream and creamy whipped cream. This is a must-try, so if you don't think you'll be able to save room, eat dessert first!

"Liquid" Dessert
Another "dessert" option is to order one of the sweet treats from our bar. There are plenty of drinks to choose from that fit this description; Rum Runners, Pina Coladas, Mudslides, and more. Also, our long list of Hurricanes is full of fantastic flavors that are definitely worth giving a try.

There's a popular saying that goes, "Life is short. Eat dessert first!" So, have we convinced you to do that? Before the meal, after the meal, or hey, even during the meal, we truly suggest you give at least one of the desserts at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina a try soon.

There's Something Tasty For Everyone at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina

Everyone around the lake area (and beyond) knows that you'll find the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks coming out of the kitchen daily at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina in Osage Beach. Although we spend plenty of time perfecting our Creole cuisine, there lots of other equally delicious dishes on the menu without that signature Cajun flair.

For those times when you are dining with someone that's not in the mood for Cajun, be sure to let them know that our waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks has plenty of foods on the menu to satisfy lots of different cravings. Here's a quick peek at some of the tasty dishes you'll find, both Cajun and beyond.

Amazing Appetizers
In addition to the Creole-inspired items found on our "starters" menu, here are a couple of the other delicious dishes you will find.

Smoked Wings
Our house-smoked wings are served original, extra hot, garlic parmesan, or barbecue in orders of either 10 or 20.

Nachos
We have 2 incredible nacho plates that are both available as either a full or a half-order.
  • Pork Nachos - Slow-smoked pulled pork, Turbo Dog cheese sauce, red beans piled high on corn tortilla chips and topped with lettuce, tomatoes, green onions, and jalapenos.
  • Blackened Chicken Nachos - Tortilla chips piled high and smothered in our Turbo Dog cheese sauce, then topped with spicy chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, green onions, and jalapenos, all served with our salsa and sour cream.

Savory Salads
Our salads are a lot more than just lettuce and dressing. Each one is topped with fresh ingredients that will tickle your taste buds. Here is a couple that we have on the menu.

Ahi Tuna Salad
A 6-oz. sesame seed-encrusted Sashimi-grade tuna filet cooked to your liking served over fresh spring mix with feta cheese and heirloom tomatoes served with our house remoulade dressing. You may order the tuna blackened too.

Raspberry Chicken Salad
Fresh spinach, apple slices, grapes, and heirloom tomatoes topped with grilled chicken and served with our house raspberry balsamic dressing.

Signature Sandwiches & Burgers
There's a fair share of Cajun sandwiches on our menu too (including those amazing Po Boys) but when you're in the mood for something different, these are just the thing to hit the spot. (Not a bread fan? We've got some tasty wraps too!)

Steak 'n' Cheese
Strips of beef tenderloin grilled and smothered in white American cheese on a toasted French roll. You can add even more flavor with sauteed mushrooms, onions, or green peppers.

Pulled Pork Sandwich
The award-winning Wobbly Boots Roadhouse recipe pulled pork (borrowed from our sister restaurant in Osage Beach) piled high on a toasted Kaiser bun and served with a side of the Boots' house-recipe BBQ sauce.
Baja Burger
Our blackened classic burger topped off with pepper jack cheese and jalapenos.

Irresistible Entrees
All of our signature entrees are served with a garden salad or mini Caesar salad, your choice of side dish, and either French bread or corn muffins.

Fried Catfish
Two 8-oz. hand-breaded catfish filets fried to a golden brown and served with house-made tartar sauce. Also available blackened.

Black Jack Filet
Our dry-aged, blackened 7-oz. filet topped with house-made Jack Daniels steak sauce, bacon, and sauteed mushrooms and onions.

Authentic Cajun Cooking
Last, but certainly not least, here's a preview of some of what makes us the best Cajun restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks. We use authentic rubs and spices direct from Louisiana and classic ingredients that just might make you think you are eating in the French Quarter instead of central Missouri! (FYI, there's a LOT more where these came from!)

Shrimp 'n' Grits
Large shrimp sauteed with Andouille sausage, hickory-smoked bacon, onions, and mushrooms served over our homemade cheddar cheese and jalapeno grits.

Po Boys
We have four delicious Po Boys for you to choose from. The first three are made with Cajun mayo, lettuce, and tomato plus your choice of Southern-fried or blackened catfish, deep-fried big gulf oysters, or hand-breaded gulf shrimp. The last one is filled with smoked Andouille sausage, lettuce, tomato, and our homemade remoulade sauce.

New Orleans Medley
A plateful of our signature entrees: creamy crawfish etouffee, rich jambalaya, red beans and rice, and a half-link of our Andouille sausage.

This quick peek at a portion of our extensive menu should be enough to convince anyone, whether you're in the mood for Cajun cooking or not, to give Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina a try. No matter what your favorite flavors are, you're bound to find something on our menu to tickle those taste buds! So, the next time someone asks you "Where should we eat tonight?" you'll know exactly what to tell them.
