We realize that it's incredibly difficult to save room for dessert when you're faced with a menu full of the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks, but believe us when we say it is definitely worth the effort! Do whatever you need to do when you come to Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, either come in specifically for something sweet or eat dessert before your meal, but please give one (or all) of these fantastic treats a try!
Beignets
There's a good chance that you actually have started a meal at our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant with this amazing dish. It's so good, we listed it on the menu twice, under both desserts AND appetizers! Also known as "Louisiana's doughnut," it's a favorite in the French Quarter and, thanks to our talented chefs, it's a favorite in mid-Missouri too!
A beignet is a perfectly deep-fried pastry tossed in powdered sugar. We serve our version with a side of house-made sweet raspberry sauce to make them even more irresistible. No one will judge you around here if you decide to both begin and end your meal with a plate full of fantastic beignets. As a matter of fact, everyone will be impressed... and jealous!
Bananas Foster
Great care goes into making this taste-tempting dessert both look and taste phenomenal! First, we cut up fresh bananas into thick slices. Those are sauteed in our Cruzan Black Strap Rum sauce until the two meld together irresistibly. Once ready, it's all topped with cold vanilla bean ice cream and presented to you for enjoyment.
Chocolate Bayou Cobbler
Unfortunately, we don't have a photo on file for this terrific dessert to tempt your sweet tooth. (It's so good, people keep digging into it before we can snap a picture!) Still, we couldn't leave out a delicious description of our Chocolate Bayou Cobbler.
This decadent Hershey's chocolate experience is baked with a scrumptious, golden crust on top. Before bringing it out to you, we add rich vanilla bean ice cream and creamy whipped cream. This is a must try, so share it with a friend if you think you're too full!
Drink Dessert
Some guests prefer to order something sweet at the end of their meal from the bar rather than from the kitchen. This too is a wise choice, because we have all sorts of amazing mixed cocktails available, from our long list of Hurricanes to those fantastic frozen drinks like our Rum Runner, Pina Colada, or the Pain in the A**. The kids can even enjoy a drinkable dessert with a Frozen Jolly Rancher Slushy!
We won't think any less of you if you eat so much for your meal that there's no room left for dessert, but we do highly suggest that you try really hard to save some room. The delicious desserts at Shorty Pants Lounge are every bit as enticing as our main dishes. You're going to love them!
