The New Leftovers
You can grab a lakeside seat and order a plate full of the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks along with one of our famous Hurricanes and listen to the sweet sounds of these talented musicians. In addition to the draw of the live music, there are some other exciting events happening around the lake area in June.
The Lake Race, plus all of the events surrounding it, take place during the first few days of the month, and our sister restaurant, Dog Days Bar & Grill, is hosting its always-popular Canine Cannonball June 8-10. Father's Day is June 17 (and we hear dads love Cajun food!) The Lake of the Ozarks is hosting this year's Can-Am Police-Fire Games June 25-July 1, and the Support Our Troops Poker Run is happening on June 29.
Need a Place to Stay?
If you are coming to enjoy all of these awesome events from out of town, you're going to need a place to stay while you're here. Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina has two of the best vacation rental houses at the Lake of the Ozarks right next to the restaurant and marina. A lot of dates are already booked for the summer, but we do still have some dates open. You can check availability and book your stay online for the Red House and the Glass House through the links in this blog or on the home page of our website.
If you miss out on our awesome rentals, you might be able to book Dog Days Bar & Grill's brand new luxury vacation rental. It's new on the market, but since it is sitting right next to the Dog, that gorgeous property is getting booked up quickly for the summer too!
June is going to be incredible and the perfect warm-up to get us ready for an amazing month of July! Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina is looking forward to another fantastic season here at the Lake of the Ozarks, and we're excited to experience it with you.
The 3-day weekend that results from the observance of Memorial Day 2018 is a great excuse to pack up and get out of town for a little fun and relaxation. With the weather getting more summer-like every day, the lake area is a perfect choice, and our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant, bar, and marina has some excitement planned that you don't want to miss!
Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina in Osage Beach has been open for the season for a while now, and we're fully ready (and anxious) to take on a big holiday weekend and all of the amazing things that come with that. Here is what we've got waiting for you when you get into town this Memorial Day Weekend.
Great Live Music
We've got a fantastic outdoor stage that we fill with the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks all season long. For Memorial Day Weekend 2018, that stage will be graced by the incredible Travis Marvin on Friday and Saturday, May 25 & 26. He's a Kansas native that's been rocking the region for nearly a decade, and every time he joins us, the crowd absolutely loves him.
If you can extend your holiday weekend, or happen to live in the area year-round, be sure to come back to catch the talented Noe Palma on stage Tuesday night after the holiday. Beginning in June, you can enjoy great live entertainment at Shorty Pants every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.
A Spectacular View
Being classified as a waterfront restaurant & bar at the Lake of the Ozarks means that you can have lunch, dinner, or cocktails lakeside, enjoying the fantastic ambiance and scenery that you can only find here by our beautiful mid-Missouri lake. It's amazing how one view can somehow be both exciting and relaxing at the same time!
We've got lots of tables for you to dine at right next to the water, and there's also a nice covered area where you can chill out by the fireplace (even though it's not running this time of year) and catch the game on TV while you wait for your table. If you've been out on the lake all day and want to get out of the heat, we've got lots of seating in our air-conditioned, smoke-free dining room too.
Delicious Food & Refreshing Drinks
We serve the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks, as well as quite a few American dishes, just in case you happen to be the one in the group that isn't in the mood for Creole cuisine. (But we're willing to bet that if you try it, you'll like it!) We serve menu items that seem to come straight out of New Orleans, using authentic rubs and spices direct from Louisiana.
While everyone raves about our World Famous Crab Cakes, they're also extremely fond of our Gumbo, Crawfish-N- Shrimp Etouffee, and variety of Po Boy Sandwiches. You'll also find mouthwatering steaks, specialty burgers, and signature sandwiches, salads, and wraps. There's something delicious for everyone!
We've got two fully stocked bars, one inside and one outside, that feature ice-cold beer, a wonderful wine selection, and all of your favorite mixed drinks. You'll also find those frozen drinks that the lake area is popular for, like Rum Runners, Pina Coladas, and the famous Pain in the A**. In addition to all of those, Shorty Pants creates a few of our own specialty cocktails, like the Cajun Bloody Mary, fresh muddled Mojitos, and an incredible selection of delicious Hurricanes.
Full-Service Gas Dock & C-Store
If you've arranged to actually get out on the lake this holiday weekend, Shorty Pants Marina will come in handy for stocking you up for an amazing day on the water. Our full-service gas dock at the Lake of the Ozarks has 87 Octane, 93 Octane, and Diesel fuel for your watercraft, and the C-store inside has boating necessities such as motor oil and fuel stabilizer.
Those will keep your boat or jet ski running, but we've also got the stuff you need to have some fun too! These items include (but are not limited to) snacks, soft drinks, package liquor, water, ice, watersport flags, suntan lotion, sunglasses, and so much more. We've also got all kinds of awesome Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina souvenirs, like t-shirts, hats, and koozies for you to pick up.
Shorty Pants Marina also houses the cleanest restrooms at the Lake of the Ozarks. If you're looking for a place park your watercraft while you're in town, you can give us a call at 573-302-1004 to check availability on our covered dock slips, which come with a long list of incredible amenities while you're here.
While you're in the lake area for the weekend, you can find an amazing time waiting for you at our waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks. If you happen to live here year-round, you're not limited to just this weekend. Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina is open 7 days a week beginning at 11 am daily. Keep an eye on us, because we've got all kinds of awesome things coming your way this season. You're going to want to hang out here with us every time you're in the area, and we can't wait to serve you!
People from across the country, and sometimes from even further, come to mid-Missouri to enjoy everything that this amazing lake area has to offer. Our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant offers you a bit of a vacation inside your vacation. Your body will be here in Osage Beach, but your taste buds will be transported to the French Quarter with flavors straight out of Louisiana and the classic dishes of New Orleans!
We have a nice variety of non-Creole dishes on our menu too, but Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina is famous for serving the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks. We incorporate classic staples of Cajun cooking, like rice, sausages, seafood, and vegetables, and combine them with authentic rubs and spices direct from Louisiana.
We're not just talking main dishes either. There are delicious Cajun creations throughout our entire menu just waiting to tempt your taste buds and satisfy your hunger in the most delicious ways possible. Hungry Yet?
While you are in the lake area, come on by our Lake of the Ozarks Cajun restaurant and give one of these mouthwatering creations a try. We offer the beauty of the lake with the taste of New Orleans. You can reach Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina by water at the 21 MM or by land when you take Hwy 54 to KK, turn right on 3 Seasons Rd, and then follow the signs. We're easy to get to, and most definitely worth the trip!
Our waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks is honored to have the chance to sponsor May's monthly social of the Lake of the Ozarks Idiots Club on Saturday, May 12, 2018. This is a group of wonderful people who are anything BUT idiots, that raise money for local children and families in need. Everyone is invited to join them at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina while they do this in their very own fun and fantastic way!
What is the Idiots Club?
This is an incredible group that was founded in 2014 by Denny & Danna Hiner, both retirees of the Camdenton School District. They had a firsthand look at the needs of a great many of the students that they worked with. Many people do not realize that over 65% of the kids in the lake area live in poverty, and it is a situation that needs attention.
The needs vary greatly, from new clothes for a homeless child, to sports equipment for a student that couldn't otherwise afford to play, to a car battery for a high school kid living on their own. Money is raised through annual memberships, which are only $5, as well as the sales of t-shirts, hats, koozies, and lanyards. The group brings attention to their cause by hosting fundraising events at various lakefront restaurants during the summer, and our Cajun restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks is proud to be one of those spots!
In 2017, 1,079 members signed up for the group, and this year they would love to increase that number. In the nearly 4 years since this charity began, they have been able to provide more than 10,017 child assists with a retail value of over $270,000. Thanks to the help of donations and discounts from business partners, the Idiots Club only had to pay $165,000 of that amount. They do not work directly with families, but rather through counselors, social workers, school nurses, and others that know the children personally and what is truly needed.
Join Us Saturday
Come on by for lunch, dinner, or a midday cocktail to find out all about this wonderful local organization, and also just how much fun hanging out with these "idiots" can be! Monthly meetings by the water, great new friends to meet, and that amazing feeling you get when you know you're making a difference - now that's something our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant can get behind.
Last week our blog gave you all of the important details so you can join in the excitement of the Lake of the Ozarks 2018 Spring Harbor Hop. Today, we've got a few reasons why Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina is the best place to begin and end your hop, plus the perfect place to continue a weekend full of fun! Harbor Hop is Saturday, May 5, but we're here all weekend (and all week) long ready to get the party started!
Boating Supplies
For an entire day of boating, you'll need to stock up on the essentials before heading out. We've got the best gas dock and marina at the Lake of the Ozarks for that! We carry 87 Octane, 93 Octane, and Diesel fuel for your boat or PWC, as well as the other items you may need to keep your watercraft running smoothly, such as motor oil and fuel stabilizer.
You'll also find everything you need to satisfy your crew for the day. These items include (but are not limited to) snacks, package liquor, soft drinks, water, ice, suntan lotion, sunglasses, watersport flags, and even Dramamine (just in case!) This year we added some pretty awesome cups and can holders to our Shorty Pants swag, and an incredible cooler to go along with them.
Our marina houses the cleanest restrooms at the Lake of the Ozarks for a pit stop before you begin harbor hopping. If you need a place to park your boat while you're in town, give us a call at 573-302-1004 to check our covered dock slip availability.
Fuel For Your Body
Start your Spring Harbor Hop by getting registered and picking up your first card at our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant. Grab some lunch before you go so you have plenty of energy to last all day long and well into the evening! Our menu features extraordinary Cajun dishes that taste like they came straight out of New Orleans rather than our mid-Missouri kitchen! We've also got plenty of non-Creole dishes, as well as an incredible kids' menu in case you have any little Harbor Hoppers in your crew.
Don't forget about those amazing cocktails our bartenders are so talented at creating too! You'll find lake favorites like Pina Coladas, Rum Runners, and of course, the ever-popular Pain in the A**. We also excel in mixing up freshly muddled Mojitos, Hurricanes, and our fantastic Cajun Bloody Mary. (You may want to come back for that Bloody Mary on Sunday too after a long Saturday of partying on the lake!)
Lake View & Live Music
Once you've picked up the final card and turned in your poker hand, make your way back to our waterfront Cajun restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks. You'll be hungry after all that time out on the water, and the Harbor Hop ends just in time for dinner.
Steven Moore will be performing on our outdoor stage, so you'll want to stick around all night and enjoy the music. Our kitchen is open until 10 pm, and the drinks will be flowing from our bars all night long. Grab a cocktail and relax next to our unbelievable lake view, listen to the music, and round out an eventful day in the best way possible.
We're excited to see everyone on Saturday, May 5 for the Lake of the Ozarks Spring Harbor Hop, and we truly hope to see you before and after that too. Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina is open 7 days a week at 11 am, ready to share a season full of fun at the lake with you!
