You'll be able to wow your friends with your abundant 4th of July knowledge!

The 4th of July holiday dates back to 1776, when 56 men signed the Declaration of Independence.

At 70 years old, Benjamin Franklin was the oldest signer of Declaration of Independence.

Edward Rutledge, 26 years old, was the youngest signer.

The Declaration was written by Thomas Jefferson.

8 of the signers of the Declaration were born in Britain.

Americans began celebrating the 4th of July immediately, but it did not become a recognized national holiday until 1870.

So far, Calvin Coolidge is the only U.S. President to have been born on the 4th of July.

According to TIME magazine, Americans consume about 155 million hot dogs on Independence Day.

Every 4th of July, Americans spend more than $600,000,000 dollars on fireworks.

John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Monroe are 3 presidents who all passed away on July 4th. Adams (2nd president) and Jefferson (3rd) actually died within a couple hours of each other in 1826.
