One of the most anticipated family boating events at the Lake of the Ozarks is happening this Saturday at our sister restaurant, Dog Days Bar and Grill.  AquaPalooza 2015 promises to be bigger and better than ever, and that's really saying something special.  Hundreds of boats and thousands of people eagerly await this awesome annual event.  Shorty Pants Lounge is proud to bring you all of the details for this amazing lakefront live music.

The Music

Four incredibly talented bands will be taking the AquaPalooza stage during this 5-hour concert on the water:  Members Only, Disco Dick and the Mirrorballs, Double Vision- A Foreigner Tribute Band, and State Line Drive.  Crowds will be watching from boats, the dock, the water, and the restaurant all day long.  This year's lineup spans multiple genres and decades of music: country/pop, classic rock, 70's, & 80's.

The Dog Days Texaco Country Showdown Winner will be Announced this Wednesday!!

It's almost time to name the winner of the Dog Days Bar & Grill Texaco Country Showdown!!  We've seen lots of talent and are excited to name the 2013 Showdown winner this Wednesday night.

The Country Showdown begins each spring with over 450 local artists, like the one we have at Dog Days Bar & Grill and advance local winners to a state competition held at fairs and other venues.  Winners of the state will take the title, $1000 prize and the opportunity to advance to one of the Regional Finals.  The final competition is the televised National Final where the winner receives the Grand Prize of $100,000 and the title of "Best New Act in Country Music."

Be sure to cheer the contestants on this Wednesday, August 7th at 8:00 at Dog Days Bar & Grill.

The 2013 Great Bagnell Dam Duck Drop will Take Place this Weekend!!

The Rubber Ducks will soon be falling from the sky - the 5th Annual Great Bagnell Dam Duck Drop will be held on August 3rd at the Historic Bagnell Dam.  Here is a short summary of the days events!!

• The day will kick off with a 5K Run and Waddle Walk. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the race starts at 8 a.m. Registration is $25 and children under 12 are free. Each entry will receive an event T-shirt.
• The Fun Zone will open at 10 a.m. just below the Bagnell Dam - you will find games and prizes, bounce houses, face painting live music, great food and more!!
• The Duck Drop will begin at noon. If you do not have your ticket for a chance at $5000 yet, you will have an opportunity to purchase one the day of the event for $5 - but all sales will end at 11 a.m.

Don't Miss Your Opportunity to be the next Texaco Country Showdown Winner!!

The Texaco Country Showdown has returned to our sister restaurant Dog Days Bar & Grill!!  This is the 32nd year for the nationwide event and it's America's largest Country music talent show.   The show was formed to find the up and coming country music artists and provide them a chance to launch their career.

The 2013 Lake of the Ozarks Spring Harbor Hop

We are getting closer to the Lake of the Ozarks Spring Harbor Hop - Dog Days Bar & Grill and Shorty Pants Lounge will once again be stops in the event that marks the beginning of the Boating Season at Lake of the Ozarks!!

If you haven't been to a "hop" before, you are going to love this event!  Participants will venture around the Lake stopping at different participating Lake of the Ozarks Waterfront restaurants and marinas to draw playing cards.  The object is to build a winning poker hand that is awarded with different prizes.   Winning is great - but a day on the water visiting some of your favorite waterfront restaurants is even better!!

Players donate $15 per seven card hand and the fun starts as they hop around the Lake to draw their hand at any of the 30+  participating restaurants and marinas around the Lake. 

Here is a list of the Prize Allocations from the Convention and Visitors Bureau website:

1st Place - 10%
2nd Place - 9%
3rd Place - 8%
4th Place - 7% each
5th – 10th Place - 5% each
4 Worst Hands - 4% each
Random Drawing for 10 Hands - 2% each

Dog Days Full Moon Float In - a GREAT Boating Event at Lake of the Ozarks!!

It's almost time for another fun-filled Dog Days Event ...This Thursday is the Full Moon Float In.  Come out to Dog Days Bar & Grilland help us celebrate our first Full Moon of the season!!

The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association is having the 2013 In Water Boat Show at Dog Days Bar & Grill!!

The Marine Dealers Association has over 50 Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers the represent many different types of boats, accessories, dock equipment and anything else that promotes Lake Lifestyle!!  This will be the perfect opportunity to check out the newest boat models and visit with representatives in person to answer all your questions.

2012 Lake of the Ozarks Harbor Hop

This weekend is the 26th Annual Fall Harbor Hop at Lake of the Ozarks!

Once again Shorty Pants Lounge will be participating in the Annual Fall Harbor Hop and we are excited to see boating enthusiasts come out for some Lake of the Ozark Hopping!  The event is sponsored by the Lake of the Ozarks Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Marine Dealers Association and Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurants.

The Harbor Hop is a boating event in which participants will hop from various restaurants and marinas to draw playing cards in order to build a winning had that is eligible for prizes.  Boaters that want to participate can donate $15 per seven-card hand.  You can start your hop anywhere and begin drawing your first card at any of the 30+ sponsoring restaurants and marinas.  For a complete list go to http://funlake.com/harborhop/

Prize Allocations are as follows:

1st Place - 10%
2nd Place - 9%
3rd Place - 8%
4th Place - 7% each
5th-10th Place - 5 % each
4 Worst Hands - 4% each
