Open for the 2016 season!
Doors open at 11 am this Friday, and from then on we will open at 11 am, 7 days a week. We are anxious for a season full of excitement, featuring lunch, dinner, drinks, and late nights of the best live entertainment at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Sunday Happy Hour
This year not only will we be slinging all of your favorite Shorty Pants cocktails daily, but on Sundays, they will be featured in our special Happy Hour. We'll be offering special deals on our most popular drinks, including Bloody Marys, Screwdrivers, Mimosas, and Margaritas!
Old Favorites + New Menu Items
Our menu still features your favorite Cajun dishes, like our Creole Quesadilla, Smothered Catfish, and the Oyster Po Boy. Black Angus burgers and mouth-watering steak options are there too.
This year we will be adding tacos to the menu, but with our own special spin: shrimp & grits, pork, chicken, and mahi. If you are only needing a quick bite to go along with a drink and the breathtaking lake view, we will be offering cheese & sausage appetizer plates to pair with our exquisite wine selections.
Rental Houses
We will soon have more details available for you about the 2 rental houses at Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina. This summer you can stay right next door to the best waterfront bar at the Lake of the Ozarks. Opening Day 2016!
Friday, March 4, 2016 Shorty Pants Lounge will open its doors, ready to welcome everyone back for another season of good ol' Cajun fun! Join us starting at 11 am that entire weekend, March 3-6. We will be closed on Monday, March 7, but beginning Tuesday, March 8 we will be open 7 days a week at 11 am.
Best of the Lake Finalist!
The final round for the annual Lake Lifestyles "Best of the Lake" survey is happening now through 5 pm on February 29, 2016. Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina has had the honor of receiving "Best Gas Dock" for six years in a row, and this year, with your votes, we can make it 7 years in a row! We have also made it to the 2016 finals for "Best Dining on the Water." Take the Best of the Lake survey soon before it closes and tell all of your friends to vote for your favorite gas dock and waterfront restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Shorty Pants Lounge prides ourselves on bringing a little bit of New Orleans to the Lake area, so it should come as no surprise that we have a great interest in that town. We bring you the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks inspired by that incredible area. Besides delicious Creole cuisine, New Orleans is also famous for its fantastic Mardis Gras celebrations.
This year, the actual Mardis Gras falls early on February 9, 2016. The Lake of the Ozarks Mardis Gras Pub Crawl marches to the beat of it's own drummer, so it will be taking place in late February, on the 20th. We think that's pretty awesome because now everyone around here has two dates to celebrate!
Why does the date keep changing?
Mardis Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday." Fat Tuesday is the last day for eating richer, fattier foods before the ritual fasting for the season of Lent. People use this night, and the week leading up to it, to party and have a good time before having to give something that they love up for a few weeks. As far as the date moving around often, here is how that is decided.
Fat Tuesday can fall on any Tuesday between February 3 and March 9, but it is always the day before Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday is always 46 days before Easter, but Easter moves around. It can fall on any Sunday between March 23 and April 25, depending on the full moon. Easter will always be the first Sunday after the full moon following a spring equinox. Whew! Make it easy on yourself and just check a calendar every year! Ash Wednesday will always be marked, and the last big party of Mardis Gras is the night before that. Next year it will jump back to the end of the month and fall on February 28, 2017.
St. Louis rivals New Orleans!
New Orleans is not the only big Mardis Gras party happening on February 9 this year. St. Louis boasts the second biggest Mardis Gras celebration in the United States. The famous Soulard area throws all kinds of fun events the entire month before Fat Tuesday, both family-friendly and "leave the kids at home!" Only a few hours drive from the Lake of the Ozarks, it's a trip a bit closer to home then New Orleans.
The Lake hosts the biggest pub crawl!
The Lake of the Ozarks Mardis Gras Pub Crawl is on Saturday, February 20 this year, so all of those St. Louis & New Orleans party-goers that don't mind bending the rules a bit and partying after Fat Tuesday can come here and join us! The low price of $10 gets you a wristband and entrance into the 20+ participating venues. Every spot will feature a live band or DJ, so plan to dance all night long.
Your wristband will also give you access to the 32 buses running from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am, and they will make stops at not only the participating bars and restaurants, but also many participating hotels and motels along the pub crawl route. Leave your car keys in the room and let the buses be your sober chauffeur for a safe night full of fun!
Happy Fat Tuesday!
It's a great year for Mardis Gras because you get double the chances to celebrate! The best Cajun restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks won't be open for the season quite yet, but our favorite BBQ restaurant, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, will be hosting the best stop on the pub crawl route. The infamous Barefoot Entertainer, Dale Blue, will kick off the festivities at the Boot followed by DJ Vinyl Richie closing out the night.

November brings with it Thanksgiving, which gives your favorite waterfront restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks a reason to think about all the things we have to be thankful for. We are very lucky, because once we started thinking about it, we realized that Shorty Pants Lounge is an incredible place for a lot of reasons. Here are seven things that make us say "Thank you!"
Amazing Customers
The chance to work in a fun environment right next to the water brings us all to work here, but it's the wonderful, happy faces of our customers that keep us smiling and coming back for more day after day. Watching all of you enjoy your time with us makes us want to keep doing what we do. Shorty Pants Lounge wouldn't be the success it is if we didn't have so many loyal and amazing customers, and we are very thankful for that.
We Turned 10
In July of 2015, Shorty Pants Lounge celebrated our 10th Anniversary. It wasn't just the milestone itself, but the way we got to celebrate. We hosted the best all-American crawfish boil that the Lake area has ever seen. Jim Beam, Hurricanes, beer, and bugs were had by all, along with an awesome time! We are both thankful that we had the opportunity to celebrate this milestone and for the fact that you were right there to share the moment with us.
Being voted "Best Gas Dock" AGAIN!
Thank you once again to everyone in the Lake area that voted us as having the Lake of the Ozarks Best Gas Dock not only this year, but for the past 6 years! We do our very best to make sure that we keep our gas dock and c-store stocked with anything and everything that you might need for a day out on the water. We are extremely thankful that you all noticed and graced us with this honor.
Exciting Events
Annual events around here are always something that we look forward to and remember fondly after they are over. This year we were able to take part in some incredible events. The 2nd Annual Warriors Against Melanoma Poker Run and the Shootout PWC Poker Run. We even got to host the after party for that last one! Speaking of poker runs, we can't forget about both the Spring & Fall Harbor Hops that brought so many of you to our docks. There was the 9th Annual Bikefest that we were honored to be a Passport stop for. Don't forget about the 16th Annual Bogeys & Beer Golf Tournament that we have so much fun doing with our sister restaurants every year. As if those weren't enough, holiday weekends here at the best waterfront restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks are events in themselves. The thing that we are most thankful about with these is the fact that "annual" means we get to do them all again next year!
Incredible Music
Some of the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks has made its way on to our lakefront stage over the past 10 years, and this past Summer was one of the most entertaining ever. Every single Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday (and occasionally a few days in between) our restaurant was filled with amazing sounds from the most incredible musicians. Lake area favorites like the Boomchux, Art Bentley, Dustin Clark, Noe Palma, and so many, many more joined us. We are very thankful that they all shared their talents with us.
Awesome Staff
Shorty Pants Lounge visitors are able to have an incredible day out when they join us partly due to the amazing people that we are lucky to get to work with. We do our best to hire intelligent, friendly, fun people to serve our customers. We are thankful that we had one of the best groups working for us this past year. They made it extra-speical.
It's Not Over Yet!
We are extremely thankful for the beautiful Fall weather that we are seeing this year. We have been graced with many days this Autumn that have left it warm enough to keep enjoying our outdoor deck. Even on the cooler days, most of them have been bright and sunny. We're still open 7 days a week at 11:00 am, ready and waiting to serve you up more of the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks. We aren't quite ready to pack it in for 2015, and we're thankful that our season is still going strong.
Taking the time to look back and pick out the moments from this past year that we are thankful for is a real eye-opener. The wonderful people seem to be the biggest reason that we are the best waterfront restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks. SMOKED WINGS
The Lake's best house smoked wings tossed in your choice of 4 taste-tempting flavors: original, extra hot, garlic parmesan, or barbecue. Snack on 5, dine on 10 or 20, or share a few with a whopping order of 30. You'll wanna make sure everyone at the table gets a taste.
CREOLE QUESADILLA
One of our most popular items. Andouille sausage, crawfish, and shrimp are the hearty staples in this dish, and sauteed peppers and onions bring out the flavor.
OYSTERS ROCKEFELLER
Fresh oysters topped with the perfect blend of spinach, garlic butter, and red pepper parmesan. Served up with lemon wedges and saltine crackers. This is only 1 of 3 delicious choices from our fresh oyster menu.
OYSTER PO BOY
Big gulf oysters are deep fried to a golden brown and placed on french bread with lettuce, tomato, and our homemade Cajun mayo. We've also got an incredible CATFISH PO BOY available for your dining pleasure!
SMOTHERED CATFISH
A mouth-watering catfish filet served on a bed of rice, and as if that wasn't enough, we then smother it in our CRAWFISH ETOUFEE. We'll prepare it either fried or blackened for you. Two incredible dishes turned into one!
NEW ORLEANS MEDLEY
Now from two favorite flavors in one dish to four! For the person that simply can't decide, our medley offers up a plate full of signature entrees. Creamy CRAWFISH ETOUFEE, rich JAMBALAYA, RED BEANS & RICE, and a half link of our ANDOUILLE SAUSAGE.
